It is 3:47 am! We leave for the airport at 5. I was sleeping quite soundly when the alarm went off.

I completed the Boating Course! I got a 95 on the final test and will receive an official Florida Boating License electronically in the next few days. I'm glad to have that done. I think the practical courses will be more helpful. Though there was some good material a lot of it really wasn't relevant since we will be renting mid-size boats rather than owning them.

The robot finished vacuuming the house after working most of the day. It was really dusty/hairy! You can't see it as much on the wood look tile which is good but I should definitely let the thing run around a lot more.

We had a few calls back and forth with DS late yesterday about clothing for the weekend. He is bringing a jacket and warm shirt for us and we are bringing a tie for him.

We had dinner out so we wouldn't have leftovers here going bad. Funny but I was thinking about how I still struggle to figure out what to order if I don't want leftovers. There really isn't any entree where I can eat more than 1/2. And if they only have junky appetizers I either have to talk DH into splitting or throw away half my meal (we split last night). What a difference from pre-VSG.

Today we fly to Albany arriving around 11 am. We will stop in DH's old neighborhood (where they spent the most time in his previous married years and where his kids grew up). Lunch will be split, then we drive up to Vermont where we will be staying for the weekend and where the wedding is. The festivities start tonight with a ****tail/appetizer party. The wedding is at 3:30 tomorrow, then breakfast in the morning on Sunday.

Time for final preparations before we leave. Have a friendly Friday!

I head out for the airport in an hour, so I need to go get ready and finish packing (mostly done except for toiletries). I really hate the travel part of traveling. Because it's such a long way, I am missing the rehearsal dinner/welcome ****tail party and the breakfast on Sunday. Which is totally fine with me! Otherwise it would have meant an extra day on either end.

It was extremely smoky last night. Visibility was crazy low. Needless to say, the windows stayed closed and the air on. My bathroom windows didn't do a good job of keeping all the smoke out unfortunately. Maybe that goes on the house fix list - sealing bathroom windows better with new weatherstripping?

Okay, into the shower with me...

Autumn Weddings breaking out all over. DD is in town for a wedding also! Safe travels for CC and Liz.

I had a great time shopping yesterday, and found some awesome sweaters (I'm always on the look out for the perfect sweaters, warm but still some style. One piece I bought is a black sweater duster with fake fur trim) and some boots, that have a nice grippy sole, but are still fashionable. DD said they were anyhow. Then I decided I needed a pedicure. When I got home the railroad men invited me to join them for dinner. So my day off was well spent, and I spent well!

We picked up DD from the airport at 8am, and then drove to my parents house. We had a nice visit and celebrated my Mom's birthday early.

Back home now, where we will have a quiet night. DD has to finish writing a paper, and has class tomorrow (online) before she goes to her friend's wedding.

Sounds like you had a perfect day! I hardly ever buy sweaters now with the little time we spend in the cold, but I still like them. I think the ones I have are still wearable for now at least (not too out of style).

Greetings all

We have sun for most of the day though fog in and out. Thats fall here.

Liz by now I hope you are at your destination and enjoying festivities. Travel is indeed hard. I hear they are changing how they board planes and then charging extra for early boarding. Jeez. If a family is sitting in three seats together then how do they board only window first? hope you get some fall color. Not enough of that around here since it's mostly evergreens.

CC smoke is icky! Hope you have a good air filter. And that your travels go well and that the event is fun.

Not much here. I spent time at the studio going over financials with our new board member. He is pretty smart and has good questions. A good deal all around. He thinks they are going to get all the art glass stuff out of our one location which would be great. Too much storage of stuff not used. I think we should sell a lot of the art glass since it was given to us and is not getting used.

DD your new outfit sounds tres chic. Enjoy. Sounds like fun is abundant.

I cooked the chicken spinach last night forgetting that DH had brought home the deli food. So meal delayed. Oh well. DH had lunch with the ROMEOS at a mexican place so we have leftovers for that too.

Our team plays tomorrow. Favored to win but they are famous for messing up. We shall see.

Trick or Treat! Diane S

Pre-cooked meal!

Usually if a family has seats together in the same row all can board together in the earliest boarding group, because it is efficient to do it that way vs people unrelated. Some airlines already board from the windows out (and back to front sometimes) because it is the most efficient way to get the plane loaded.
