Still so muggy! And less wind so it may be even less bearable. It is supposed to moderate after today.
So I had to think about why I love flip flops in particular LOL. One is that it is as close to barefoot as possible, a state I spent as much time in as I could when I was a child (the soles of my feet were so tough it was almost like having shoes on). Two is that I have bunions which are very painful when something presses on them so I have to have very soft shoes to accommodate them OR flip flops.
Junk removal services are more than worth every penny! I used them when we moved my mother out of her 40+ year home, when she died, and when we moved out of our 20 year home. And I plan to do the same when I clear out my Cape place to prepare it for sale next year. The key is to not spend a lot of time moving the junk but just remove the keep stuff and isolate it. Then tell the junk people that everything in this area (can be multiple areas) goes.
Today the plan is to finish the repurposed chest (including taking pictures DD) and probably going to ****tail hour at the club tonight (wow does that sound ritzy LOL). In between maybe beach if it isn't raining?
Have a fine Friday!

I too live in flip flops! Or slippers when at home. It used to be yearRound, but you can't in Sedona unless you want frostbitten toes. Even putting tennies on is something I dread let alone dress shoes. The worst.
Just took a walk. This morning two birds flew into my windows and died, which breaks my heart. But then I'm sitting in the living room reading and I see all these feathers floating in front of another window. I checked the cameras and ravens had scooped up the poor little birds and eaten them on the roof. Wild Kingdom! PS - found my 10th scorpion. This one dead in the storage room.
I think that's all from me. Take care all!
PPS- the puppies have turned 3 weeks old. Here are the boys, so one is my baby...
Liz,, ****tails at "the club" does sound fancy! Friday ****tails are great most places, Friday just feels so good!
CC, it is sad when birds crash and die. Maybe it was inevitable, perhaps they were fleeing the crows?
Next week is fall break. We have students on Monday and Tuesday, and then an inservice day on Wednesday. Typically DH and I use this 4 day weekend to travel (so many good memories, Door County, New Orleans, New York, Boston, Galena, IL , Chicago... ) but DD is coming home next weekend, so we are staying put. We had a pretty big summer, so it's okay, both mentally and financially if we are in Minnesota this time.
We're going to dinner at friends' house tonight. This is the first time we've seen their home, since they moved back to Minnesota. It will be a fun evening I think.
I never heard of Fall Break before. In the northeast they have Christmas Break (just before Christmas through New Years), Winter Break (mid-February), and Spring Break (mid-April). Nice that DD is coming!
Greetings all
It's kind of rainy here today. But it's funny how different it can be in just a few miles.
I spent some time at the studio today carving and glazing. Winter is busy there because no one wants to be outside in the rain. Firing going on. There will be a little gallery event there tonight. Not for me! I am amazed by how rarely we go out at night anymore.
Something is weird with my right eye. It looks like I have a black eye only just the upper part. Kind of itchy too. I have an appointment for it Monday. No clue what I did.
Yep I am preserving the junk removal company flyer. The big issue is I don't feel like arguing with DH about his stuff and I cant just toss it when he is not here - he is never gone for long enough for one thing. Oh well, I will keep dreaming. Maybe I can start with just the back yard junk.
Liz drinks at the club does sound glamorous. Enjoy. And I saw the pic on facebook of the chest. Great job - especially the shells.
CC OMG those puppies!! Do you get to pick and when? Sorry for the bird casualties. I have heard you can buy a big giant plastic owl and put it on the roof so it scares birds away. There is one on a business near our studio. No clue if it works. Now, what does one get to scare away scorpions? What predators eat them? (besides vacuum cleaners).
Flip flops - I am not a fan because they are just no comfortable for me. No shoes are. I pretty much wear the same rebocks that I have had for over 10 years.
DD Galena Il! What a cute town that is. But nice to have your DD come. Can it really be almost fall break time??!! Jeepers I am not ready for any of this. Enjoy the time.
Well the dogs are lobbying and lurking. Wonder what they want?
Diane S
Will you see them in person or maybe a video before you pick one of the 2? I'm sure they will all be wonderful dogs though. Remember Peps singleton that died so young? That seemed particularly devastating.
