Greetings all

Scrabble today and I sucked. No luck at all. But we are mostly evenly matched (except for the Shark) so on any day any one of us could win.

Stopped at the grocery on the way home and picked up things. Today is dog med day so I had to get some liver sausage to get them to eat the pills. I got some more chicken that is already cut up. Makes a big difference to my gimpy fingers to not have to cut up stuff. I used to wonder why people were too lazy to shred cheese and now I get it.

CC you are lucky to have a friend who makes glass art! You will get cool gifts and maybe get to make something. Sounds like a fun friend.

It's raining today so driving the freeway is not fun but I managed. Also got a cheeseburger at my new favorite spot but have eaten only half.

And our scrabble hostess gave me two pints of fresh squeezed apple juice from her own apples. Its great! Far better than bottled stuff. No sugar added.

Liz sorry Justice is not feeling well. Hope he recovers soon.

Agreed, the war in Israel is horrific. There seems to be no end to the conflict there. I remember the 1967 war. I see no way out unless all the women of the area decide enough is enough and stop their young sons from becoming militant. I fear the political implications of Americans among the hostages. It's all horrible.

Plane swelling is significant today. Yet, alas, I am not doing a great job flushing it out with drinking copious amounts of water. Sigh.... I am up roughly 5 pounds in a week. The tightness in my ankles attests that the weight gain is mostly fluid.

On the food front I did make a concerted effort to stay sugar free and "lower" carb today, even going so far as to eat a lettuce wrapped burger for lunch. Not sure what dinner will be. But, I did have sugar cravings on my way home. I noted that I wasn't hungry. Just wanted something "good" to eat.

Dottie had her vet appointment today. Vet agreed with my hunch: polyarthritis. Ran blood tests, etc... to look for possible other causes today and tomorrow she'll go in for a joint tap. Hoping we get the answers for treatment.

Other dog news.... Dinah had her second ultra sound. The number of pups went up! LOL! At least 7, but the vet suspects that she has some "stacked" pups and is guessing that she has 9 (or even 10). Pups are due 11/4.

The Hamas/Israel situation(war) is unreal. I honestly wish we (USA government) would stay the hell out of the issue. I find the attack horrific, and while possibly an unpopular point of view, I also don't believe the military attack was an entirely "unprovoked" attack. Israel's government has been having some, how shall we say, ultra conservative outliers causing trouble within and without the country.

Great puppy news! Nice to have good news offsetting the terrible war news.
