Good day with DD and her boyfriend yesterday. Only a couple of times when comments about everyone getting married came up LOL. Along the lines of food and socializing, the day was planned around where we would eat breakfast (small restaurant at the airport where we eat breakfast every Sunday), lunch (beach club), and dinner (somewhat historic place outdoors on the water). But with all that I actually didn't eat a ton (didn't order too unhealthy and didn't finish any meal).
Along the same lines, I went out before our walk to get bagels, we are having lunch at a Tiki bar, and we are cooking steaks here for dinner. In between lunch and dinner we will go to an outdoor music venue.
Have a satisfying Saturday!
Grilling?!! I hope your DH has the necessary stamina to make it to grill and back after a busy day.
It was 92 earlier this week, and 52 today. There will be three couples at dinner tonight at our friends house. The gentlemen will certainly want to have cigars after dinner. DH and one of his friends sat on our porch Christmas Eve and smoked with nephews and sons when it was -1, so this weather won't phase them. It could stop me though. If there is no wind, and the build a fire, maybe.
Our Minnesota Twins are in the play offs! Fond memories of the celebrating when they won the World Series in 1987 and 1991, so long ago. DH will be going to Tuesday's game in Minneapolis. On the football front, the Vikings are about to be demolished when they play Kansas City. Of course, everyone wants to know if Taylor Swift will be in town.
News from the Middle East this morning is devastating. A seemingly unsolvable situation and so much human suffering...

So much fun today at the Sedona Art Festival. A lot of high end paintings, ceramics, glass, sculpture, and jewelry. I went with my neighbor and her friend. We ran into my other sweet friend and her husband there and had drinks and pulled pork quesadillas. She introduced me to her husband as "my CC". Love her!
I ended up buying a vase by a glass artist for my high glass-fronted lit cabinets. It's is the exact shade of green as my living room/kitchen stools. It's multiple layers of glass with the inner ones being clear orange glass and the outer ones being opaque greens, creams, and grays. The orange layers poke through and you can see light through those parts.
One cupboard down, five to go.
Nothing else to report other than I too was very upset by the terror attacks on Israel. Bless them. How lucky are we that I can only imagine that kind of fear...
Take care, my friends!
Greetings
It's foggy here but down at the studio it was sunny. 7 miles. Go figure.
So our team won last night. A good game but sloppy and weird penalties. Entertaining. I guess thats the idea.
I have some spinach to cook tonight with salmon. Healthy me! But I may put sour cream in the spinach.
Liz, I echo DD on how your DH will cope with the travel time to the grill. First world problems indeed. Glad the family visit was good. You and DD are such grown ups! Going out to dinner with other adult couples. Reminds me that we hardly ever do that. Must consider that. I was talking to one of our grown up friends about thanksgiving plans. She reminded me that some of our group will not be there due to age and health issues. They have a lovely home but it is a raised ranch so there is always a flight of stairs to get in. They are having a lot of trouble with the stairs now and are getting a lift. Makes me glad for a flat house.
CC that glass vase is gorgeous. A great look. So nice that you have a good arts festival that has good stuff and not junky candles and refrigerator magnets. Fused glass art is wonderful. Even more fun that you had some nice social stuff unscripted. Yay.
I went to the clay store for a 25 lb bag of clay. Was yet again reminded how heavy 25 pounds is and how much better off I would be without 25. But I am still walking each day. Had to get a different brand of clay as they were out of my favorite but who knows, maybe I will like this new stuff. Then I did some glazing and chatting with a friend who is going to be co director of the studio. I hope it works out. I personally think she is taking on to much but she is not me.
Last night I had to interrupt my on line scrabble because I smelled smoke and Tesla was wigging out. I think the neibbors were burning trash illegally. Not good. There was no wind but I know that the county is not allowing burning right now.
Yep DD, bring a take home bag so your cooking friend won't take offense if you don't eat a lot. Again, amazing how the eating rituals rule us.
Enough rambling. The dogs are getting restless. Diane S
