DD and her boyfriend arrived @ 8:45 this morning. We drove 10 minutes across town to pick them up. They said the plane was super comfortable. We will probably take it at Christmas time for the convenience and free parking across the street is a bonus as well. Poor Justice had a very abbreviated walk this morning due to time constraints.

We are at the beach (they are napping here right now since they have been up at 3 am). We will have lunch here at the beach club and just vegetate for the afternoon. Tonight we are going to a casual seafood place on the water for dinner.

Fingers crossed but it looks like our friends are going to buy our place. They have rented in this area for years and the husband has wanted to sell their Cape Cod place and move here full-time for a couple of years. The wife was on the fence but she really likes our community with all the activities and the price now falls into their range. Pray that it happens.

DH and I are thinking of getting a membership in a boating club located on the marina where our house is. It would allow unlimited use of many types of boats, boating education, and reciprocity across the county with multiple sites on Cape Cod. With my shoulder I'm never going to be playing pickle ball and I'm not sure about golf so it would give us another enjoyable activity year-round which we could do alone or with friends.

Tine to get some sunshine. Have a full Friday!

The boating club is a great idea! Access to boating, without all the trials and tribulations of boat ownership.

Greetings all

It's warm and sunny here. We are getting ready to watch our football team. It will likely be pathetic.

Spent the day folding clothes, doing more laundry and otherwise puttering. Our gallery members each pay $60 per month to belong to the gallery. My task is to collect and deposit the checks and keep track. You would think that would be pretty simple. But NOOOOO, some people pay 6 months at once, some people pay cash, some people don't pay at all so it's all goofy. So I have been working on the quarterly reconciliation of this stuff. Messaging everyone who is off track in one way or another. But business is good.

Liz the boat club sounds like a great idea. With your view, how can you resist! A good plan for a person with a not so good shoulder. Do they have sail boats? Pickle ball is overrated.

Teachers enjoy the weekend.

Chinese take out tonight which DH brought home from lunch. The hospital called for some kind of follow up with him but I told them to call later.

Cheers. Diane S

No sailboats though even if they did I don't think DH or I would be comfortable. Late DH loved sailing and disliked power boats but I never really learned to sail. Here we would mostly boat on the intracoastal so sailing wouldn't work here anyway.

So today was Homecoming. It's a whole big deal all week, with a Pep Fest on Friday, then the game. Tomorrow is a dance. Part of homecoming is making homecoming pants. Pants covered in glitter. Kids often have pants making parties in someone's garage. It's a multi week process, because with all the glue and glitter there has to be some drying time between decorating the front and back of your pants. There will be glitter in books and crannies of the school for weeks.

When I got home, DH and I went to our happy hour. The temp dropped to 55, with a fierce wind. We were lucky enough to be seated by the fireplace, and it felt delicious. Home now, and we have finished Only Murders in the Building.

Tomorrow we're going to dinner at a friend's house. These friends know all about my idiosyncratic eating habits, so it's all easy. We are having dinner next week at some other friend's home. They are college friends we reconnected with when they moved back to Minnesota a year or so ago. We've gone out to dinner several times, but they haven't cooked for us before. I'm nervous about eating my tiny amount and making them feel like I didn't enjoy the food. Food, eating, hospitality, its all tangled up together.

What are the Emily Post rules for asking friends for a doggy bag? I'm sure she would be horrified, but I would happily give one! "This is so delicious! I wish I could eat more, but my capacity isn't very large these days. I would love to take the rest of mine for lunch tomorrow so I can enjoy the rest of it, if that would be okay..."

I love the decorated pants! Sounds like a really fun homecoming in your school!

Yeah, food, eating and hospitality dominate most social occasions especially at our point in life.

Gitter pants! what a concept! I assume they are cheap pj pants that get glittered. Sounds very fun. Gee I feel old - I remember looking for nice dresses for homecoming dance. How quaint. ds

Argh! Too short haircut!! I even showed her a picture of my own hair that SHE cut and this is a good inch if not more shorter. So irritating. Color is good though.

Otherwise, the landscapers came and did a great job on the weeds. There were here yesterday too, so I wasn't expecting them today (and a little disappointed with the weeds after yesterday). Nice surprise.

Dinner with my neighbor was fun and delish. Her son is a chef near Carmel, CA I think at a fancy restaurant. I can see where he inherited his skills!

Tomorrow I'm going to the Sedona Art Festival also with my neighbor. Should be fun. We're going early, which is good as it's hot here currently.

I think that's all I know. Be well!

That stinks that your hairdresser cut your hair too short. Maybe she was distracted?
