Liz, what a difference your choices made. So much brighter, and welcoming. And I love how your new art piece looks over the fireplace.

Happy Birthday to Elise, and happy anniversary to you, on the day you became a mother. A moment that changes everything.

This morning on the way to work Sirius radio played Cat Stevens Morning Has Broken. I told myself, try to hold this feeling, that there is much to amaze and delight, and a new day should be viewed with awe. So I think it did stay with me.

Why is it so hard to get enough protein! Here's what I've eaten today: Chobani yogurt with 6 Quaker Oat Squares, 3/4 cup cottage cheese with peaches (60 calorie cup), one egg and 3 pieces of bacon. That's probably about 35-40 grams of protein. I'll drink 20grams of protein with Fair life milk, so maybe it will bring me to the bare minimum of 60 grams. But even eating this little amount 5 days a week, I'm losing a little less than 1/2 a pound a week. ( Last month I lost 3 pounds). I could eat more food to increase protein, but then, would I lose weight? Clearly, I could not maintain this low volume without the Wegovy, so there would be no weight loss at all if i wasn't taking it. But jeeze louise. I don't think this drug will take me to skinny, I don't think I could stand the low energy this dieting is causing. I didn't feel this way after my WLS, because I was burning my ample fat. I've got fat now too to burn, but my body just doesn't seem to be breaking it down into ketones like before. So trying to hang in there to lose 10 more pounds. To all the critics (obviously not you all) if this is cheating, I must be very bad at it :)

I think it's important to consider you have a lot working AGAINST weight loss. You had the cancer and now have to take meds that ward off the cancer, but promote weight gain. You have a history of diet and then no diet, which can muck with metabolism over time, and now with the Wegovy you are eating well below your basal metabolic rate which will slow your metabolism even more. I know the Wegovy takes the "noise" away, but you do need to eat enough for your body to work. Listen to your body. The low energy is a strong message, IMO. I really don't think that the amount you are eating is healthy.

That Tamoxifen is sure a double-edged sword. I don't think Wegovy is cheating at all. I don't think anything anyone does to lose weight is cheating. It's all hard! I do feel bad that that is all you can eat and still struggle. Good on you for focusing on protein. I think I could eat your whole sample day's worth of food in one meal and maybe a snack! Boo for Tamoxifen's weight retaining properties, but yay for keeping cancer away.
