Today we go to meet DH's son and his very serious girlfriend in Fort Lauderdale. News from one of DH's daughters is that an engagement is on the horizon. We are all just meeting her this month.
We got a lot accomplished yesterday and played our first bocce match in the afternoon - we won one game and lost the second.
So Justice has been hesitant about jumping off the bed here and always had to be picked up (the bed is somewhat high). The previous owners had foam steps for their dog so I thought that would be a good idea for Justice. Silly me thinking that he would have no issue with them. So the first time I tried to get him to go up them, he jumped onto the bed from the floor! For the first and only time. Same for going down them - he side-stepped and jumped off the bed. So I tired putting little treats on each stair and he just figured out which side to approach and get at them standing on his hind legs. I did make him go up and down a couple of times holding onto him so he got the idea but maybe he will never use them of his own volition???
Time to take our morning walk and then pack for one night in Fort Lauderdale (I do enjoy that city as a break from here). Have a fine Friday!

More weed cutting in store for today.
Got my house humidifier ordered to be installed in MI. That bill felt like a total bargain after some of my bills lately!
Still warm and smoky, but that changes tomorrow. Woohoo!
Scale was unmoved today. Sigh.
Maybe more later! Have a great day!
So funny that you need a humidifier where on the East coast of the US we need dehumidifiers! But it makes sense - my skin was dry as a bone no matter how much moisturizer I used, I had nose bleeds, and I was constantly thirsty during the February we spent there.
Oh - LOL! That is a bit of an issue in Massachusetts due to the heating in the winter too but it doesn't get quite as cold as Michigan.
Justice's steps remind me of our cats bed. DD bought him a memory foam cat bed for his little old kitty bones. He would not use it. She put treats in it, catnip, one of her tshirts, put it next to her pillow on the bed, and even put a stuffed animal in it to show him how it worked. He never did use it. This from a cat who would make a nest from a piece of tissue paper left out on some surface. Pets and their distinctive personalities add a lot to life.
CC, I love all the wildlife. Even in our much more densely built neighborhood, we get a smattering of wildlife. Probably fox and coyote were the most surprising. I've told DH we should put a trail cam in our backyard in case we're missing some interesting creatures. One spring and summer we could hear a hoot owl. Wiped out the chipmunk colony, then moved on. We miss the hooting, but not those scoundrel chipmunks.
Somebody needs to invent a dual function machine that can dehumidify and then humidify depending on the season. We need both, and have neither.
Happy to arrive at Friday. We will go to our friends house to celebrate their daughter's birthday (more like a niece to us). No other specific plans, which always makes me happy.
Greetings all
Just got home from a day at the studio and errands. I spent some time at the studio talking to a young employee who is now going to acquire the stock shares of a fellow owner who is moving away. He is excited to learn more about the business and I will teach him. I have my work cut out for me as he thinks our financial statements means our bank statements. But he is sharp and eager to learn and is a fun young man so it will be fun for me as well. Progress.
So Justice does not like his stairs! Must tell you that over the years DH has made or purchased a variety of pet stairs for our series of aging dogs. None of them would use them. We also tried a ramp on the back stairs from the deck and no one liked that either. And Tesla always refused the open stairs that some motels have. I think you have to start with one low step. And yay bocce ball.
I think when I was in Omaha we had both a humidifier and dehumidifier. Winter heat demanded it and the sticky hot summers also needed adjustment. Not sure if they were separate devices on the furnace and AC or what. So yeah CC get one for your Arizona home. I am like Liz - spent a week in Nevada one time and got nose bleeds.
Yay DD and Peps, it's Friday!. Enjoy.
I brought home Chinese take out from this peculiar restaurant near the studio. It's been there as long as we have lived here and I can never figure out how they stay in business as there are never any cars there. Take out I guess.
Here comes the dumb dumb news. Time for me to walk. Diane S
