VSG Maintenance Group
Wednesday September 27, 2023
It is humid and showery off and on here but not really unpleasant.
Lots of mini-projects to do around here. That will keep me busy for a while. One rather frustrating one is that we have a built-in electric fireplace and the flames aren't flickering anymore so I think a repair is needed. But I can't figure out how to get into it. The nearest dealer is 30 miles away so I am guessing a maintenance visit will be costly. I think I will put that off.
Errands to run, book to finish (about an hours worth), and appetizers to make. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Apparently I embarrassed the sleep fairies and they decided to make a liar out of me last night. While I was up for a few hours in the middle of the night (smoke settled and I needed to close all the windows), I slept until 10! Can't remember the last time I did that.
The book club was so much fun. It was started by me, my neighbor, and a really great woman I met in the women's group here and introduced to my neighbor. We had 6 people there. After, my friend from the women's group sent the nicest text that said, "I'm so glad I met you...". That made my week! I'm glad I met her too!
Next up for books are Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, Tom Lake by Ann Patchett, and The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish.
I am meeting with the landscaper today to talk about the artificial grass turf in the yard. Other than that, no plans.
I mostly did well yesterday, but then realized I had a lot of cheesecake filling from the little desserts I made for book club left over. I should have pitched it, but alas, I picked at it until it was gone. Sigh. No restraint.
Hope everyone is having a good day!
Guess I took yesterday off from posting, but did read...
Not much to share today. Dealing with some inner/relationship stress, but nothing new. It is just tiring. And I do get in a funk... I did voice my position and feelings. That's all I can really do.
My 6 year old girl, the new matriarch, is having some type of joint pain. I thought it was an elbow, but then it was in her hip. Then it went back to front leg, now it's back to rear legs. I'm truly worried, but it is not an emergency situation. I have an appointment for her when I come back from the east coast, but until then.... Blitz also has an ongoing on again off again diarrhea issue. That now has gone beyond the home treatment stage. Hoping to get an appointment Friday for him.
Eating is the same old, same old. I'm not doing anything to lose weight. I'm stable at my 265ish range. It is what it is.
Greetings all
Sunny day out here. I spent time at the studio and had a chance to talk to our director in depth. As I suspected her motivation is money and the federal government pays better than we can. But there is already a plan in place so it's all a no brainer. Silly me for worrying. But I did get some new pieces made.
So I stopped at the store and got a new supply of chicken legs. Gonna try that again.
Tomorrow is gallery duty plus a board meeting. Big day for this old chick. So I have to do some homework and study the financials for a few minutes.
I have been using the treadmill each night. Will do so soon today. I have to keep telling myself that it stops my legs from hurting. No clue why but its true.
Liz sorry about the fireplace. I agree about putting it off. Wishing you some beach time.
CC yay for a fun book club. Sounds like a great time. Look forward to hearing more selections.
Peps sorry dogs are not well. No clue what the leg issues could be. So are you off to PA this weekend?
The chat on my college class page has turned to birdwatching. Turns out lots of us like to feed the birds and some are more formal bird watchers. Guess it's another sign of old age - sitting inside and looking at birds.
DH has seriously swollen feet and ankles. Its worrisome. He has a doctor apt Monday and I hope they figure something out. Our doctor is kind of a "wait and see" practitioner. Not cool.
I see the birch trees in the back yard are starting to turn.
Well the hour for the dumb dumb news is approaching. Time for me to walk.

Swollen feet and ankles without an explanation is worrisome. I'm glad he is seeing his PCP.
