Hope you're getting settled in in Florida, Liz!

Another smoky morning. It clears out, but must sink with the cooler air overnight. No coyotes last night! The house next door is pouring concrete, so that started at 6am. As was the case before I went to MI, there is no sleeping in in AZ. Must be a law...

Today is my book club. I think there are 5 of us. Hopefully it's fun and interesting. It's warm all this week, but this weekend should be fall like. Looking forward to it.

Hope you all are well!

We made it! We landed on time and were back at the house by 8:30 last night. I am unpacked, meaning that my suitcases are empty but all the hanging clothing is on the bed awaiting hangers. There is another box of shoes and clothing arriving tomorrow.

The new AC works great but I have to get the fan in our room balanced somehow. It rocks and makes noise and I have to have a fan as that room is the furthest from the AC unit so stays the warmest. I can't sleep unless it is cool.

And I hardly slept last night either though I was plenty tired. Maybe tonight?

Justice did great traveling as always though he panted a lot in the car. He didn't used to do that. He was super thirsty probably because he dehydrated himself panting. He loved his walk this morning though.

We already food shopped, but I have lots to do around the place. AND I need to finish the book for my first book club meeting tomorrow night. It is at one of the newer huge homes around here. Should be a gorgeous place. Everyone is bringing food appropriate for a picnic for dinner. Should be fun.

Time to get moving again. Have a terrific Tuesday!

Book Clubs! What are you all reading in your groups?

Weight will not budge. Eating 250 or so calories per meal cannot be maintenance! Probably need to shake things up with some exercise, besides criss crossing my high school multiple times a day.

I survived another day at work. No plans this evening except to read the paper, eat one small chicken taco, and watch another episode of Only Murders in the Building.

Ours is Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese.

We have to bring suggestions for the next one, so I am bringing an apparently very funny one called Lessons in Chemistry. A neighbor in Michigan gave it to me and said not to read it anywhere you will be embarrassed for laughing uncontrollably out loud. Sounds like my kind of book!

We read Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand. Not fine literature but entertaining. They thought it would be a fun book for after the summer and since I have been to a lot of places in the book it was especially enjoyable.

Greetings all

Oops I missed yesterday. I was at the gallery all afternoon and then came home to needy dogs and husband. Plus it rained all day and somehow that makes me tired. But I had some poached salmon from the deli to toss on the table.

Today was Scrabble. I got beat all three games! Someone played the word "lassoer" which is indeed a word. Unlike "entrail" from last week. Same person. Then I got a cheeseburger from a very homey place and ate half. On to the studio to do glazing. Later in the afternoon I got a text from our studio director that she is retiring. Oh goody now we get to figure that out. She has had a part time job at the forrest service for several years and I suspect she is going there full time. Don't blame her - there are benefits we don't have. But there is upheaval in the future.

Liz glad you are safely in Florida and have a new book club. Keep us posted on good books. I keep swearing I will do more reading again but fall head first into the iPad. Several people have recommended "Birdwatching While Black".

CC coyotes! Sounds noisy. Ear plugs might be in order. I never thought of the desert being noisy but I guess it is. Stay safe from the smoke.

DD glad yo are able to put work stuff out of your head when you get home. A valuable skill indeed. Glad the play was good.

Peps I swear some dog show judges flip a coin. Some may be more nefarious. Many years ago I was showing my cairn for majors in Wyoming. There was a 3 year old ***** that I thought surely would be excused for lameness. The judge put it up! It was from way across the country with a big handler. But I finished on day 3. Anyway I am glad Molly is a champ and that there were some good times.

I got ham and cheese for grilled sandwiches tonight which now does not sound appealing. Maybe it will be scrambled eggs and ham.

Missed my treadmill walk yesterday but I will do it soon today. Need to keep going.

Cheers. Diane S
