I'm on the mend and if the trend continues I will be able to do our Nashville trip next week. This morning I have a little restriction when turning my head but it feels more like I slept wrong rather than feeling that it is going to fall off. Yesterday was when I turned a corner. I did get the injection into my shoulder and that should give some relief on that front for a couple of months. The orthopedist said that it was not unlikely that my neck spasms were related to my shoulder problems.

I feel very guilty about having to cancel DH's birthday trip. My neck was still very limited in range of motion but not as painful, so I took DH to a place on the water for a small lunch on the way home. We were able to go out to dinner at a lovely resort also on the water last night. I had booked the reservation on the day we had to cancel our trip just in case.

I haven't eaten a lot this week as I wasn't terribly hungry but the choices were not optimal. I also need to start thinking about tracking protein as I think it helps in curbing hunger and I will need to be high protein when/if I have shoulder surgery in a few months.

Have a super Saturday!

Wonderful to hear you are getting some relief. Nashville is on my list, I look forward to hearing about it and maybe getting some insight about what to do/see.

Lazy morning. I slept so well last night, feeling good. It's overcast right now, so we'll see if the weather holds and we can go kayaking. If it does rain, we'll probably go see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. Definitely not a serious movie, but sometimes silly fun is what you need.

I took the next step up Wegovy dose Thursday ( the progression is .25, .50, 1.0, 1.7, and 2.4) I'm on 1.0 right now. My insurance company allows 2 months on each dose. So far so good, no increase in side effects, and good appetite suppression.

Greetings all

The sun peeked out this morning but is now hiding. We watched out team earlier in the day and it was miserable. They blew it. Big time rivalry so not fun..Now we are watching Oregon which holds promise.

Liz I am so glad you are getting some pain relief. On both fronts. Stay well and free of pain.

So chili is underway. Makes it sort of seem like fall. Store had some 95% lean ground beef so it's fairly healthy. That is, if I don't put a ton of crackers in.

The dogs are having a big romp. Good to see the old one busy (old being 7).

Not much else. I had planned to visit the studio but somehow didn't.

Stay cool all. Diane S

Not much of interest today. A boat ride, sunny, cool day, picked up my house, worked with my dad's wife on getting all the tvs set up with NFL Ticket on YouTubeTV. Good heavens, Google makes that an awful experience! Password trauma, all kinds of glitchy two factor authentication, can only do certain things in the google app, different things in YTTV app, and different things on the web.

Not much else to report! Take care all!

PS - Diane, sorry about the game today (I went to CU and Deion Sanders is the best thing to happen to them in ages!)

I'm dog showing again this weekend. It was a no win kind of day, so Blitz and I hung out to support my "granddaughter" Airedale that beat him today. (My dog Ace sired the Airedale that beat Blitz today - so granddaughter.) Blitz is the better Airedale, but judging is subjective and I do like it when the 'granddaughter' wins, too.

Any thought on liver health affecting weight????? I've been reading about it and wondering if there is any credence to it. Apparently artichoke, milk thistle, ginger, curcumin/tumeric, and dandelion extracts are all really good for liver health.

Liz, I'm so glad to read that your neck is better. Sorry about your trip, but at least you got to get out for a nice dinner. I liked the pic you posted on FB. I didn't realize that you have let your hair grow so long. It's very nice! Though, I do love the short hair you were sporting, too!

DD, I hope you got to enjoy a relaxing day. You deserve to relax after your first week at school. I was reading an article about the nation wide educational administration practice of continually adding just a bit more to teachers' plates without ever removing a task or responsibility. My district added a social studies program this year that requires something like 120 minutes per week, but didn't take anything away from already full academic schedules. Not sure how the powers that be expect this to be implemented when student days are already full. Anyhow, the article cited how young/new teachers don't know any different so they go along with it - with many burning out and leaving the profession within the first 5 years. So it's up to the old teachers to monitor, stay vigilant and complain when needed to protect both students and teachers. In turn administration tends to view older, vocal teachers as "set in their ways", inflexible and as complainers. It's really too bad what the business of educating today's children has become. I'm quite glad not to be a classroom teacher any longer. If I were, I can guarantee that this would have been my last year.

Diane S. a 7 year old Border Terrier is not an older dog.... LOL, but I get what you meant.

CC - Such a pain for Football watching. Is it really worth it? Not being a football fan, I can't imagine going through all the hassle. I'd rather watch dog tv..... LOL

Happy B'day to BB!

The latest one I've heard several times from our new administration is "We can't admire the problem". Or, " don't be infatuated with problems". Fun Catch 22, you need some help, but if you present the problem that needs to be solved, you're infatuated with problems. If I could, I would definitely retire this spring, but it wouldn't be in the best interest of my retirement finances, so it remains 2025.

Yup! 2025 for me, too.

The football is not of much interest to me either! So much of the game is now streaming or NFL Ticket (now on YouTubeTV) or Prime or Sling (for west coast college games my dad loves), that you're forced to be a tech wizard to sign up for multiple things on multiple platforms. My dad is a football nut and was up to 2:30 am watching the end of the USC game last night. I have no interest in pro games and limited attention span for college games.
