Lahaina may be largely gone. The last 2 years when we visited Maui we stayed at Lahaina Shores right downtown. It looks like that whole area which we loved has been burned. and the death toll coming in is terrible. So, so sad.

Yesterday ended up being a beautiful beach afternoon and we did have lobster for dinner. I have the entire tail left to make lobster salad out of which I can probably eat for 2 days. Yeah! Nice visit with DH's friend which ended up with a fire in the fire pit.

Today the plan is likely beach again, then happy hour oysters at the local restaurant we like to go to followed by swordfish grilled at home. I can't imagine not having a grill. The grill at my house is connected to natural gas so I don't even have to put propane tanks on it. DH loves to grill and keeps bemoaning the fact that at the new condo in Florida he has to go down 2 flights and grill next to the garage. The distance gets further every time he relates his tale of woe. I think the grill is about 3 miles away as of late ;)

I guess a lot of storm activity in AZ yesterday. I checked my weather device and it recorded 1098 lightning strikes within 25 miles of my house for the day. Sheesh! And only .26" of rain at my house. Wah.

Not much going on today. I walked with my dad (2.5 miles), then worked on a puzzle, gave myself a mani/pedi, sat in the sun, ran the vacuum. I do think I am too creaky to tan the backs of my legs. I can't turn my head enough anymore even with the PT to lay on my stomach. So a hamburger bun top I shall be.

Aside from that, I'm pretty boring!

Sun is out in full force today. It may get to 65. I did my errands. Drug store where I spent $85 on god knows what. Eye drops, tooth paste nose spray coffee etc etc. Then on to the studio where I started some new pieces and picked up a finished piece I had forgotten about. Next the grocery which was unusually busy. I impulse purchased quite a few items of meat. Who knew meat would do that. Some good deals and some good looking stuff.

Still can't get over Lahaina being gone and so many people dead. Horror stories.

CC good on you for the walk and even better on your Dad for doing that. Ok to tan like a hamburger bun. No one notices the back anyway. I had a friend who always got a white spot right under her chin which didn't get sun. Sounds like a great summer there.

Liz you guys could get a George Forman grill or some such gadget. Better than the zillion flights of stairs.

Getting the house back in order is going very slowly. No deadlines until Halloween which might be the case. Barely keeping up with the debris field as it is.

Gallery is humming along. We have some new members who are selling. Always encouraging for the new people.

There is an elevator right next to our condo and it is a short walk from there to the grill. DH just likes to make it sound like a zillion steps, LOL!
