It is supposed to be rainy today, but just a bit compared to the mainland where it may flood again. The usual for Cape Cod.

I made ratatouille with fresh summer squash, zucchini, onions, and tomatoes last night. It came out great. DH had never had it! I love it for using summer vegetables when they are in season and since I don't use olive oil it is a very low cal dish. I have never used a recipe so when I looked it up I found that most recipes called for the veggies to be sautéed in oil. I just stick them in a pot (or large skillet) depending on how much I have.

I have to go to my neck of the woods later this morning to get my hair highlighted and cut, do errands and get stuff I left at my house. We are staying for dinner with DS, SIL and possibly eldest DD who is arriving for a few days to stay there. An old friend of DH's is coming tomorrow to DH's home to visit for a couple of days so we will return here tonight.

Next week we will be in NY for the week to visit with DH's family and friends. No rest for the weary.

Time to get a Justice beach walk in. Have a transfer Tuesday!

Sunny here after a super foggy morning. August is the month of fog here.

Scrabble this morning. Won two and lost one by a hair. Fun time. Then off to doctor for annual wellness check. I am fine for being "71 and out of shape". My doctor is a hoot. We are both cynical about the future of the human race. I told him I was going to stop at a bar on the way home. He said "you should". I also told him I had phantom pain because I had forgotten my phone and felt like an amputee. He thought that was funny. But as least I have another allergy option which is a nose spray. Hate those but I will try it.

Liz I love rattatouie. A summer favorite. You don't use eggplant? Not that it's a great loss. I have made roasted vegetables thats the same mix of stuff that is also pretty good. But I use olive oil. And parmesan. Reminds me I should go to the farmers market thursday in our town and get stuff.

So I also picked up payroll and got checks signed and delivered. A big day for me.

Uho, I smell skunk. Not good.

Tomorrow the housekeeper comes for her first view of the new floor. Much more area to swifter I think.

I grabbed an Asian Sub after the doctor. I think they put hot sauce on it instead of mild. Ouch!

I have never included eggplant in ratatouille but I did notice it was in most recipes. I will have to add it next time.

I think uncarpeted floors are easier to clean (or maybe it is just easier to tell that they are clean?).
