Is it August already? Torrential rains last night led to slightly less humidity this morning. Hopefully it lasts for the day as we are going to a dance at the beach club tonight.

The dolphins were quite active this morning as I was doing my shoulder exercises. A nice show!

Off to the ocean to sit under an umbrella and read. Have a thriving Tuesday!

Good Morning All

Up early with DH so having a cuppa & wanted to stop by.

I finally received my contract last Friday and signed it. The next step was the resignation. It went ok though I was glad I waited till the end of the day! Safe to say I floored him and I think reality is sinking in. He made a few barbed comments yesterday but I just ignored them. Not sure what the coming weeks will bring but will push thru. I had to tell the other company I had interviewed at that I had accepted another role. They asked if I would reconsider- uggg. Its hard as I hate letting people down but my new role offers me a better work/life balance. Once trained will be 2 days in the city and 3 days from home. Im still getting calls from agencies that I had job applications with. Its comforting to know Im marketable at least!

Have been busy with family. My mum cut her leg quite badly and due to blood thinners- its been a challenge with bleeding and dressings. It got infected over the weekend- she is seeing dr every second day but I am dressing the wound with padded dressings as they help make her more vomfortable. Shes responding well to antibotics so Im thankful. My DSD had an accident Saturday whilst riding and came off at speed. She spent most of the day in hospital. Thankly no broken bones or spinal damage but shes badly bruised. We went over last night to visit. I cooked dinner. Cheered her up with flowers and donuts.

We are preparing for our trip to Cairns later this month. Im looking forward to spending quality time with both my boys. We havent holidayed together for a long time.

I had best go get ready for work. Meeting my best friend at Costco tonight as she has never been. Will take her in my membership. Have our house/pet sitter coming after dinner to meet the dogs. DH will head to the farm tonight and is back Sunday. He will get the mowing done hopefully. Next weekend we will take our grandsons heifers over to BIL for a mini holiday with his bull Jack. The boys are so excited about their moowies being mums. Its so nice

Love to all

You sure are marketable- you should feel great about that!

Take care of your injured family members. I hope Mum's infection clears up quickly.

Thanks Liz - its good to know you have options. The antibotics are kicking in for mum and the infection lines receeding so thats a relief. She had the pen line marked by the dr on her leg and was told if it travel past that she was to go to hospital. She was quite distressed. Im finding more and more she gets easily rattled. I just stay calm & reassure her.

Same with my father. The other day he was burned by hot coffee. The only person who was able to calm him and tell him he didn't need to go to the hospital was me. He was really distressed that the pain didn't go away immediately and wouldn't listen to the nurse or my brother. My brother called me to ask me to come look at the burn. I was going anyway to cut his hair, so I just left then instead of the appointed time. Once I looked at the burn and told him it was a first degree burn like a sunburn and it was normal to have mild pain and there was no need to go to see the doctor he was fine. I then said, "How about a hair cut?" He said, "Absolutely!" and that was the end of the burn discussion. My brother was miffed. LOL!

Oh thats hard on you all but Im glad you could calm him down.

Things have taken a turn for the worse. Our doctor isnt happy with the infection & swelling. She has requested we go to emergency. So I am here with her waiting to be taken in. Managed to get her calm enough so we could pack an overnight bag as a precaution. Shes settling now shes got me with her. Could be a long night

Better safe than sorry. I hope that getting her on stronger antibiotics will resolve it.
