Greetings all

Lovely sunny day here in Junklandia. The moving of debris continues and the amount of dust uncovered is likely measurable in pounds, not ounces. The pantry closet is included in the flooring so we had to take the plastic shelves out and with them the paper towels, bags of junk food, tin foil, extra dog dishes, gallons of vinegar and all manner of other stuff. The shelf is now in the fancy bathroom which makes me cringe but there is no choice. I think the reality is finally getting through to DH who now seems concerned about stuff. He has moved his large battery packs to the garage and is dusting the top of the refrigerator which will also be moved briefly.

So I am sure I have a case of PAD that CC was describing. I also have an aversion to eating as I should and also to doing anything anybody else tells me to do. Go figure.

Today's outward bound mission was getting dog kibble. There are some adorable rescue kittens there and also a couple of nice looking rescue dogs. This pet store also recently rescued a turtle found in the road. Turns out it is indeed someones pet that went missing.

Well Liz you will likely be unpacking for weeks. My advice: resist the urge to go buy whatever thing it is that you can't find. It will show up. Our house is so full of junk that this happens often. DH could not find a small crescent wrench to undo the dog door panel in the slider. Our garage is so stuffed with tools that none can be found. It's like if you went to a library and all the books were in a giant pile on the floor.

Dinner last night was part of a grilled chicken sandwich that DH brought home. They ate lunch at a nearby casino. DH said it was a ghost town there. Likely because the weather is nice. A good place to go when its raining and storming as they have their own power grid.

Speaking of casinos , there is another one south of here that is a few miles from a community college. The college is short of dorm space so they are renting rooms from the casino hotel to lodge students and setting up a shuttle bus service. The cal university here is also renting motel space for student housing - not a walkable distance from campus. This sounds like an absolutely horrible college experience! I feel so lucky to have gone to a college and could safely walk to the library or student union at any hour. How crappy to spend college in a casino hotel!!

Peps so glad your dad is better. Whew!. On to PT and haircuts. I used to cut guys hair in college. I pretty much butchered it but these young guys could grow it back. Hair was so important in the 70's. Anyway I am happy for you and your dad.

Not much else. T-minus 42 hours and counting before chaos begins.

Good luck on the continuation of packing up. Just imagine how organized it will be after you put it all back later?

I agree on the college experience- isn't that almost as important as learning academics?
