It's Monday already! Only 4 days before we go to Florida for 8 days. Are we crazy to go with such hot weather? Out flight down is early in the day so shouldn't be disrupted by weather but our flight back is later - it might not be so safe.
i must try skipping when I am feeling well as I have no idea if I could anymore either though my head also says yes. I didn't feel great yesterday and am unsure about what today will bring. I did start on steroid spray for my sinus infection so hopefully all will improve in the next couple of days.
Not much on the agenda today other than my next to last PT and possibly doing some laundry. I also need to set up the new printer today.
Eating has been less this week mostly because I haven't felt well. I'm totally afraid to weigh though it will happen regardless on Thursday when I have a doctor appointment. Not looking forward to that.
Have a marathon Monday!
I think you will have perfect pool weather in Florida! Use some of those days to relax and rest in your beautiful new house.
I've hit the wall too and have a summer cold. Yesterday, after brunch, DD and DH went to see Oppenheimer. I had already planned to stay home. Sounds like it was a great movie, but 3 hours is just too long. I'll watch it when it comes out on a streaming service so I can pause and go to the bathroom. While they were gone, I took a nap, and it felt awesome.
Still feeling tired and congested this morning, so my plan is to sit on the deck/porch and read today. DH might walk to the Franklin Park Zoo that is nearby. The deck/ porch is such a nice feature of DDs apartment. It's quite big (holds a table that could seat 8, and Adirondack chairs sitting area), and on the 3rd floor surrounded by trees. It feels a bit like a tree fort.
The other task today is packing. It will be interesting, as we have a few things to add to our already very full suitcases.

How is it Monday and nearly August? I was up and doing board stuff this morning. Remember the crazy woman I hope follows through on her threats to quit? She recruited a local friend who is not on our board to help with the event and the friend and her family did a tremendous amount of work. Apparently they are no longer friends as the crazy woman has irreparably damaged that relationship. She's a nightmare to work with. She said today that she is taking medication to calm herself down. The other board member there actually said out loud, "I would hate to see you unmedicated..." So I wrote the friend a thank you letter for all her hard work and mailed that this morning. Now I'm thinking about what I want to do with the rest of the afternoon and not coming up with any ideas. Lazy, I tell you!
It's cloudy today, so not much of a sit outside day. I could tidy, but that doesn't sound like fun either. I'll think of something. Hope you all have a great day!
Wow - I guess she is unbalanced! How kind of you to reach out to her friend and provide the thank she deserves.
DiamondD, that deck sounds fantastic! As a young man I looked at a Jr. one bedroom (glorified studio) apartment near my work. It was literally in the trees. I loved it - so green and soothing, but it was out of my price range ($800 a month back then was a lot when my take home as a first year teacher was $1600 a month). Your description of the deck in the trees took me right back to that day of looking at the apartment. Nice memory.
Liz, I don't envy you the Florida summer heat and humidity.
We went to the movies yesterday, too. However, I wasn't up for Oppenheimer or the Sound of Freedom - both too heavy for me yesterday. We ended up going to see Pixar's Elemental. It was a perfect lighthearted feel good movie that explored historical and current cultural bigotry and segregation. Clearly aimed at kids to learn to be accepting of others with differences.
Speaking of movies. I finally watched Mean Girls on Netflix the other night. References to the movie have come up quite a bit lately. I thought that it would be fun to watch and it really was a wonderful movie. I can understand why Ebert was so enthusiastic about it in his reviews when it premiered.
We finally have a cool down. The windows are open letting in some fresh air. It's not quite 70 degrees right now and is forecast to be only about 88 today. Far better than the 100+ we have been having.
My Disneyland weight has receded and I am back to my pre Disney low. If I continue making choices in eating as I have been, I think it's possible that I will be in a "new decade" on the scale before school starts back up. That would be kind of cool.
My trip to Minnesota with Buster is booked and paid for. Hope he travels well. You never know how a dog will fly until they do it. He can be a bit of a complainer when he is crated, so I'm hoping he doesn't bark on the plane.
Not much else going on.... Just the drudgery of chores calling me.
Hopefully Buster flies comfortably. I am lucky I can fly Justice in a bag and it doesn't bother him too much. He climbs right in the bag and lies down these days. Before our first flights with him I would take walks with him in the bag and also do it in the car. I'm not sure that helped but maybe? My former beagle who felt safe (and usually slept) when crated always freaked out in the car in or out of a crate. There is no way I could have ever brought her on a plane.
What weekend are you coming to Minnesota Peps? I'm home the 19th and 20th, but sadly (I'm thinking this is the weekend you mentioned before) I have to go to Missouri August 24-27. I'm back to work on the 28th. If we are in Minnesota on the same day, I will make every effort to come to Stillwater if it works for you to have a visitor. It's not far, we've driven their for lunch and to poke around in the shops many times.
