Today is supposed to be cloudy with showers but the sun is out. Really hard to predict what the day will bring around here. My DD lives in central Massachusetts where there are floods in some areas and their basement keeps getting full of water. Cape Cod has been relatively dry and often a really nice day when showers are predicted. Somehow the wind pattern tends to keep the showers moving east and north and bypassing Cape Cod.

We have one week before we leave for 9 days in Florida. I want to get some stuff done at the new condo. We will be taking Justice and it will be his first time there.

I also just booked a 3 night trip to Nashville in September with my 2 SILs. Last fall we went to Portsmouth NH for a couple of days, so we thought it was time for another trip. Since the future is uncertain especially at our point in life we figure we should do these things now.

Like Diane S I am struggling with a website. I am trying to order a table and chairs for the Florida lanai but the website keeps getting stuck at one point in the order. It might be because I am using an iPad so I may try to do it on the computer instead - some sites just don't work well on an iPad. I think it has some error but I am not getting a message. So frustrating!

Have a fine Friday!

Nashville with the SILs sounds great! nd traveling in September is my new dream. Soon. :)

Looks like the heat is breaking, at least for today. I'm not a shorts person (they always ride up on my thighs) so I've used all of my sun dresses in this heat. Cooler weather gives me a few more options for getting dressed.

I went with DH to return the rental car last night, because I wanted to see what the T was lime riding back late at night (well around 11pm) . I worry a lot for DD, but it was full of people doing ordinary things, a lot of medical people getting off the afternoon shift, young people coming home from a night out. There are 2 really fantastic ladies my age who live on my DDs street, and they are often on their front porches into the evening, so that's another layer of safety. We've been chatting with these ladies when we're passing on the sidewalk. They are so fun, if I lived here, I would definitely be sitting on the porch with them.

So we're going to see the Barbie meeting in a little bit. DD wants me to wear pink.

I would be willing to bet that people in the neighborhood look out especially for DD. That happens a lot in certain sections of the city when there are single people living there. There are places where they remember that it takes a village.

I am home and Disneyland weary! Had a lot of fun, but sadly with all that walking, I am up 2 pounds. Dammit! I'm chalking it up to being out in the 90 plus degree heat all flippin' day, salty food, sitting in the car for 7 hours and good old fashioned water retention! It should come off in a day or two. OMG! Disneyland.... Home of the $10 hot dog!

We had a dying black walnut tree taken out yesterday. The top 7/8 of the tree simply died off. Only the the bottom part of the trunk had any live growth. I'm afraid Molly, Buster and Lulu all got into something afterwards even though the guys cleaned really well. Black Walnuts can have a mold that is very bothersome to dogs.... it seems like a logical explanation for three dogs at one time to be sick....The three of them have bad tummies. Buster seems all better this morning, but the girls who got sick several hours after Buster are still recuperating! Needless to say, the sound of dog retching woke me up several times and clean up ensued - including a 1:00 AM carpet cleaning. Not the night I had hoped for after such a long and tiring day.

I read all the posts from the last three days late last night and now can't remember most of it.... a TT meet up, Diane S. sold a lot of her work, DD got a rental car from the airport, Liz is now at Mike's house, etc... I suppose fatigue can impair the old memory! Oh.....Glad CC's dad is doing well and is cancer free!

As for a TT meet up, I would be for Sedona. I've never been and would love the experience of seeing that area of Arizona. Yet, I am amenable to most anywhere with a convenient airport!

Playing a little catch up today, but plan on taking it easy. It's supposed to get up to 100 degrees or so again today, so not much outside activity. I'd much prefer 85....

As Liz said, Fine Friday, everyone!

I find Disney to be totally exhausting. And absolutely that has to be water weight! Dog barf at 1 am - not a great return home.

I think we should set a TT meeting month, then zero in on location/date. I would travel anywhere- would love for Shirl to come so would want to hear if that was possible?

I think your logic is sound! Especially, given that both DD and I are still teaching and Shirl is still working!

Greetings all

Another sunny day here which is how it will be for the rest of the summer. Some fog early but it clears. It's yummy cool. This area could be a TT destination as there is tons to do and nice climate (not winter). Redwoods galore. Empty beaches. Think about it. Kind of hard to get here though.

So I have learned this: whenever i have to do a difficult or unpleasant job I crave sweets. My sugar monster has been relaxed sins sleeve but it sure woke up today while I am doing the box packing and moving. A dreaded job. Same thing happened in my lawyer job on bad days - I would drive home thinking "must have chocolate". So thats that. Just gotta power through this regardless of what I eat or don't.

Hmm Disneyland causes weight gain?!? Probably so since anything fun does. But I also am betting its water. The magic kingdom probably has the ability to alter gravity and the weight of all who enter.

Not much new.. We had bacon and tomatoes last night. No bread. Bit of mayo. It's a good way to get that wonderful flavor combo and be low carb. Should have gotten tomatoes at farmers market.

Well I need to get back to this hideous task. I have to sit down after each 3 boxes. At that rate......

I am all for the "pick a month and plan around it" idea. If it's in my backyard and I don't have to travel, maybe I could contribute toward Shirl's ticket as that is not a cheap flight...?

I'm exhausted. Bad sleep, unruly/grouchy uterus (I hate to wish for menopause as it has its own drawbacks, but I'm very ready for some aspects of it), a morning of IRS and state charitable solicitation filings plus bookkeeping tedium. It will be an early night!

We went for Mexican food tonight. A sweet Mexican family moved their restaurant into a breakfast place in our tiny town of 400 whose owners retired and their food is terrific! I hope they do well. Michganders aren't know for their love of spices. But this was great. The thing they are lacking is a liquor license and those are unbelievably expensive and hard to get here.

I'm watching the unafraid deer eat mulberries from under our trees. We need dogs again.

Glad you enjoyed Disneyland, Peps! Hope you got your website to work, Liz! DD, how was Barbie? DianeO, congrats on the found money! Such a nice surprise! DianeS, I would love to see your area. I bet it's beautiful!! I would want to see a banana slug while I was there...

Take care all!
