Justice had a rough night. I think the pain medication he is on has affected his digestive system. He has been eating well but it wasn't moving through his system as it should which I think is what got him up in the middle of the night. Hopefully he is relieved now and only has one more day of the medication.
Intuitive eating. I like the concept a lot and read about it years ago. The problem is that I want to eat even when I shouldn't be hungry. I actually don't have too big a problem up until 4 pm. Then I want a snack. Dinner between 6 and 7 seems to set off this desire to continue eating. My intuition is clearly off at that point because I already should have satisfied my true hunger.
It is cloudy and everything is damp after rain last night. But it should be sunny at least once we get off Cape Cod for my Orthopedist appointment on the south shore of Boston followed by the day in Boston.
Have a meaningful Monday!
See you in a little while Liz!
I brushed my teeth while DH was taking a shower. Felt about the same as the humidity on Saturday. Yesterday was cooler because it rained and rained. We went to see Atomic City at a very cool little theater that had preserved a lot of it's art deco decorations. If you are a fan of Wes Anderson movies, it won't disappoint, but it is a bit out there.
Today, lunch with Liz and Mike down by the harbor. Tomorrow I think we're going to see Evita. Apparently this production is previewing in Boston before it opens in NYC. Wednesday, my BFF is in Boston, so we'll meet up with them. DH is getting his hair cut by DDs stylist. Since DH just generally goes to Great Clips, I'm looking forward to seeing what this guy does. Thursday we are renting a car for one day so we can drive DD to Amherst so she can see my Aunt and Uncle and their new home. Friday we are going to see the Barbie movie :) So lots of fun things to look forward to, but not nearly the frenetic pace we started out on June 25.
Waiting for my appointment. It is going to be steamy again today. Mike needs a haircut badly. Will see you soon!
Got on the scale this morning and got to do a little happy dance. Down a good pound since Thursday. It's funny how dog show weekends used to equate to a scale rise and now they always seem to result in a scale drop. Can't say I don't love that! Now only 2 pounds to the next decade and 12 pounds to October goal. I think that's doable. Again, no self inflicted pressure to make the timeline. Just a reasonable goal, IMO.
I am tired today. I slept a good 9 hours, got up somewhat dazed and groomed a client dog. I just now ate something - though I did have a protein shake around 12:30.
Hope DD and Liz and the hubbbies have a good lunch date today!
It's VERY HOT here. Too hot for outdoor activities. Thank goodness it's a dry heat, though. I kid you not.... dry heat is very different and much more tolerable from the God awful humidity of the midwest, south and eastern seaboard.
Have to unpack the RV and return it to storage since it will go unused for about 5 weeks. Hard to believe I have a let up in the how schedule, but it's paid off in spades. Blitz is #1 owner handled Airedale in the US, #3 Airedale in breed points (meaning how many Airedales he's beaten) and number 4 Airedale in all breed points (meaning how many dogs of all different breeds he's beaten this year).
Hope to check in from the Happiest Place on Earth!
Greetings all
Sunny here and I am reminded why I hate hot weather. I am a hot head. My head and face sweat a lot. My hair is thick. DH does not understand why I don't wear a hat ever. Cuz its too hot! He wears a hat all the time because he has no hair.
Scored a pot pie from the health food store today so thats dinner. We split a pie so its not too bad.
Listening to NPR today and there was a doctor who authored a book "Highly Processed People". Missed his name but it was very interesting about how highly processed food has addictive qualities and with the advent of such food came the obesity epidemic. This doctor lives in the UK but has an identical twin brother who came to live in the US and promptly gained considerable weight. It's about availability and cost and not about will power. Anyway, interesting interview. I may get the book. Affirms what we all know already.
Yay DD and Liz hope you guys had fun. That chowder looked great. Stay cool. Evita has one of my favorite musical songs. Enjoy.
Peps you stay cool as well. Congrats on all of Blitz's achievements (yours actually).
Poor Justice. Lots of pain killers plug you up. Hard being an itty bitty dog. Get well Justice.
Well DH moved a few things out of the living room today so thats good. Some was just moved to another part of the living room which sort of misses the point but at least it's closer to the door. I cleared off my desk into a laundry basket and it's more than I can lift. Must get small boxes.
