Looks like DD is having a phenomenal trip in Ireland. So happy for them!
Muggy as usual but not rainy. Only one pot got planted yesterday because I had to leave for PT, but I am doing the other 6 on the deck this morning. It will be hot so I think I will put my bathing suit on in preparation for the beach afterwards.
Yesterday we had a good visit with DH's sisters. When we got back bringing pizzas for eldest DD, we found out that she had left to take her aunt to the hospital. Her aunt is in end-stage liver failure (genetic, not alcohol induced) and DD is the only relative close to her. A LOT of responsibility. She wasn't home until after we went to bed at 10 and isn't up yet so we don't know what happened. The last note was that the local hospital was trying to determine if they should transfer her to Boston where her liver specialist is.
Have a fine Friday!

I had an event for the board I'm on yesterday. It was the town block party where businesses and organizations put out booths to promote themselves, give away free stuff, etc. There's food and music. Anyway, we had a demonstration board for kids that shows how a watershed works and what happens when chemicals and dirt wash off the land and end up in the lake. It involved kool aid, cocoa powder, water, and kids. Needless to say, what a mess! It went fine, but I think that is the last time I volunteer for that. Plus I had to staff it with MI guy and he annoys the bejeezus out of me and frankly was more a cause of thmess than the kids!
Sleep continues to be amazing here. I forgot how much really sleeping in makes me happy!
Today I need to make appointments with the window blinds guy (doing my house and my dad's) and with the upholstery lady to make new slipcovers for the main house dining chairs. She's retiring, so I need to get in under the wire. And I need to make a hair appointment here.
Food is still good as I was super busy yesterday. Busy often helps as there is no time to snack. Hmm. Maybe a general lack if busy in my life is counterproductive...
I should probably go tackle the day, I hope you all have a good one!
Brrrrrr..... This north coast of California weather is not for me! It is 53 degrees, over cast, and the fog/marine layer was so heavy this morning Blitz was getting wet as I was getting him ready to show. I had to pop him back in the RV to dry him off. But, I'm not going to complain because this is WAY BETTER than showing dogs in 90 - 100+ degree heat! This is true terrier weather. Blitz clearly was enjoying the briskness of the morning.
The number one Airedale in the USA is here, to Blitz got "select" (first runner up) and Owner Handled Best of Breed. It's what I expected, so all is well in my little dog world.
GOAT is having a few issues (awning and water pump) that are irksome, but nothing that can't be dealt with next week once I'm home. The awning thing did get to me last night.
Food intake was minimal yesterday, but not overly healthy except for breakfast. I am loathe to admit it, but lunch was potato chips and a Coke Zero. Dinner was a frozen ravioli thing zapped at 10 pm after RV set up, dog walking, etc....
Hoping to see Diane S tomorrow afternoon.
Fun Friday, all!
It seems like there is always something with an RV? I would think healthy eating while at a show would be extremely difficult!
Yes, RVs are notorious for needing regular fixes. It's like taking a small cottage on the road with you. Can you imagine how a house would hold up traveling thousands of miles a year on the back of a massive pick up truck? That's basically what an RV is.
Eating well at a dog show takes planning AND discipline! So, yes, not easy!?
Greetings all
Yep CC being not busy can result in bad eating. But so can being super busy as one just grabs for convenience. Plus I think being tired makes us overeat as we tend to eat to replenish energy but it doesn't quite work out that way.
And yep, I am also loving DD's pictures of Ireland. I had no idea there were all those little islands.
CC good luck with the upholstery. The display of run off for the kids sounds like a total recipe for a mess. Kool aid powder means ants. Not surprising MI guy was responsible for mess. Glad you are sleeping well.
Liz hoping the aunt with liver disease is now comfortable. What a tough situation for the DD.
My day has consisted of laundry and buying dog food. There were little kittens on display at the pet store - rescue kittens; not pets for sale. They are so darling and looked so sad.... NO NO NO!
Peps welome to the north coast. I should not tell you about the home made candy shop in Ferndale.... Glad Blitz had a good day. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Yeah dog show food is terrible. Usually just hot dogs and crappy ones at that. The No Name Burger bar in Ferndale is supposed to be good. You probably won't have time to look around Ferndale but the entire town is on the historic registry known for Victorian houses. Super quaint. Anyway GL tomorrow as I probably won't get there until mid day.
So there was a murder Monday a couple of miles from us. They knew who did it but were searching. Some random person saw they guy on a hiking trail near here so he is now captured. Scary in our little town.
Not much else. Still waiting for a call on the new floor. Then the chaos begins. Diane S
