Diane's dream of Chip makes me yearn for a dream with eldest DD or one of my old puppies. I have dreamed of deceased DH a few times this year but it has been a while since I have dreamed of DD.

Yesterday was a good visit with friends though several of my family members who were supposed to go didn't. The sun came out briefly in the early afternoon so we were able to get Justice out for a walk.

Today is supposed to be mostly sunny by late afternoon. I want to get to the local plant store when it opens for senior discount day to purchase flowers for my deck planters. Then it will be beach time with a late afternoon Justice walk. Dinner at home for a change!

Have a warm (but not too warm) Wednesday!

Nice day yesterday, but a lot of work to make dinner. And my ribs were overcooked! Such a bummer after all that work. The fireworks were good last night. I posted some on TT from my porch.

Last night I kept hearing ticking from my baseboard radiators and realized they were hot. I left a message for the hvac people and they are coming this morning. They said it's probably a stuck valve. It's too warm for the radiators so the a/c has been fighting them!

One of the construction guys said he was coming back this morning too. He goes by Big Mike. Nice guy. He killed a squirrel for me once that one of the dogs mangled. I said I didn't know what to do and he calmly walked over and whacked it with a 2x6. Yikes! Big Mike and I go way back...

I'm supposed to go with my dad to Traverse City this afternoon. He has a dermatology appt. We'll see if the hvac guy is done by then.

Despite eating a lot yesterday, food is still okay. Lots of strong impulses to snack carbs, but there aren't any in my house.

I would like some nice dreams too. Mine are all weird as heck.

Hope you all enjoy your day!

Hope everyone had a lovely 4th. We had a nice and relaxing day. My brother came over for dinner. It was warm enough to visit and eat on the patio until about 8:30. Once the sun went down it became a *****illy to sit outside in shorts and a t-shirt. Grilled sausages, salad and grilled corn on the cob was served along with a marionberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Not sure if marionberries are a west coast thing, but they are tasty. Very much like blackberries, but less sweet. The pies always have a tartness about them. I like it. Some people seem averse to the tartness.

Weight has been trending down again. Seems like my new low and high range is down about 5 pounds from 6-12 months ago. While not significant, the new range came without "dieting" which is pretty cool, IMO. It is my hope to lose about 10 pounds prior to the fall. However, since I won't "diet", I may be having pie in the sky expectations. We will see how it goes.

CC, glad you are already settled in. As for your ribs, I much prefer dry over cooked ribs to undercooked, unctuous, chewy, ribs. So for me, your ribs would have rocked it.

Liz, glad you got a walk in. The summer humidity and on again off again rain on the east coast is something I could never get used to when I was there. I am so glad our weather is in it's normal dry pattern. Lots of sun, low humidity, but the temperatures sure are variable here! It is normal to have a 30 degree spread in a 24 hour period. Usually from the 50s to the 80s.

Diane S., what a nice dream! Bet it was great to "see" old Chip!

Many chores today - groceries, cleaners, gas, packing the RV for Ferndale, workout, finish trimming Blitz, etc...

Also, it feels like a Monday, not a Wednesday. Odd.... especially since I'm on vacation!

Greetings all

Nice day today but I did not do much. Managed some gallery banking. Also did some research on the travel insurance claim for my widowed friend. Found some useful stuff. Vantage travel filed for bankruptcy so the travel insurance company needs to be the target.

Stopped at the grocery for a few items yesterday including 3 avocados. The machine declined my debit card saying it was over the transaction limit! WTF. Clerk checked and turns out he had charged me for 903 avocados! oops. I don't remember watching the screen ringing stuff up. Got fixed.

Yep it was nice to dream of Chip. In the dream he came in the door from a white light and was galloping. Nice way to think of things. I sometimes have dreams of deceased friends and family. In the Chip dream was also DH's deceased sister who was part of the crowd I was trying to feed.

Corn on the cob tonight plus hot dogs. At least it's a bit of fiber. Reminds me, don't ever let your dog get a corn cob. My niece the vet says it's like a roto rooter on the dogs guts and really tears them up.

Just made a vet apt for Tesla for shots. Lordy its hard to even get this office on the phone.

I may have mentioned I found a zillion socks behind the dresser. So I washed them and today tried matching them up. I am tossing all the orphans.

CC glad you have Big Mike the squirrel killer to help out. Odd about the furnace and the air condiditoner dueling. Glad it's getting fixed. I bet your ribs were good. I agree with peps on super cooking. Makes me want ribs.

Sounds like everyone had a nice 4th. Wonder what DD did in Ireland? I think we were there on the 4th years ago.

Cheers. Diane S
