The sun is out again! Beach today (after I get my teeth cleaned - waiting now).

Girls night out with SILs and DD was great last night. We ate outside at a restaurant on a marina, then stayed in the area of Adirondack chairs to have mud slides for dessert (the "signature " drink there). Lots of great chatting.

Later today we are meeting friends at the local winery. Summer is here!

Have a fun Friday!

Our flight was uneventful. From Boston to Dublin is less than 6 hours, so there really isn't time to sleep much. When we landed our bodies said it was around 3am, but it was 8am Dublin time. I am tired, and will be going to bed at 7pm (soon). Look forward to waking up, reset.

Today was just Hop on Hop off tour. Tomorrow, we have plans all day. So here's to a rejuvenating sleep.

CC, dust ruffles and scorpions, good Lord!

Greetings all

Sunny today but cool. I did not get organized enough to get to the studio. DH brought home fish and chips from lunch.

Yeah DD I can't believe your flight was so fast across the pond. Yay. Enjoy Ireland. Hope to hear from you. When I was there I ate lamb every time I could because it was always on the menu and DH hates it so I don't cook it at home. He can't stand the smell of it.

We watched the season finale of "Silo" last night. A post apocalyptic sci fi thing that I usually hate but I got sucked into it and now there are many questions. Also watched The Crowded Room. If the writers strike and now maybe actors strike goes on we will have to find something besides tv to do. Maybe watch old movies.

New neighbor is still hammering away.

Liz enjoy the mud slide. Sounds great.

Not much else. Tomorrow I have to go to the dreaded safeway to get stuff for Sunday's early 4th celebration.

Very late post. I probably should just start tomorrow's but here I am! Long day of driving. I opted for a route I haven't done before instead of I-40 across Texas and Oklahoma, because there were thunderstorms that I wanted to avoid. I took US-54 across the corner of Texas, the panhandle of Oklahoma, and through the most rural part of Kansas you've ever seen. Parts were pretty, most of it was really boring, and almost no services. So I had a choice between stopping at 4pm Sedona time or keep going to Wichita, but hoping maybe a hotel in between might catch my eye. There is NOTHING. Even the gas stations closed early. I got to Wichita and more evidence that my attempt at being spontaneous was a terrible idea. The Hampton Inn was full. I went to the hotel next door and I know this makes me a snob, but I looked in the window at the people that were waiting in the lobby and noped out. Very sketchy crowd. Drove a little bit further, and ended up at a Marriott, which is nice. But now it's very late and I'm not tired and I still have 15 hours of driving left. Aargh. I think I might just take two more days to get there. I don't have a second long day in me. I think spontaneous only works if you have a navigator in the passenger seat who can scout things out on their phone while you drive.

So, a funny addendum to the scorpion/dust ruffle story... Last night I got a text from my friend Bill who I had told the dust ruffle story (He's the one who lives in Arizona). His partner walks into the bathroom last night and nearly stepped on a scorpion. So Bill went and killed it. Then he walked into the guest bedroom and having heard my story, flipped the duvet up while scoffing about how could there be scorpions crawling up into the bed? And there is a a second scorpion where the dust ruffle meets the mattress!! Today he took all of the dust ruffles off of their beds.

Alright, I'm turning off the light. Take care everyone!

Gross beds are no place for scorpions. Have a great trio but don't pu****!

More scorpion stories! Yuck to them!

Drive carefully- I don't think I could do such a long drive alone though eldest DD used to when she lived in Jacksonville FL. Don't push yourself too far. Maybe look up some options for stopping at the halfway mark before you leave?
