So, so sad about that sub imploding but I agree that if something had to happen quick would be preferable. But the thought of even contemplating being on any submarine much less that one is appalling to me.
So travel/airline stories: Guess where tropical storm Bret is right now? You guessed it - just slightly north of Aruba. It is not really too much more windy than usual but it is grey and raining off and on which is highly unusual in Aruba. Right now our 2:30 flight is not showing as delayed but the flight out of Boston which turns around here is delayed so I doubt we will get out on time. I think they are delaying the Boston departures to get here after Bret passes. We assumed we wouldn't be home until about 9-10 tonight. It may be much later...
Not much else to report. Packing has been started and I have disposed of most of the leftover food. We actually don't have too much as our food purchase planning was pretty good this year. We will eat breakfast at the restaurant here before we leave. We originally planned to leave the resort just before 11 but who knows now.
Have a substantial Saturday!
Hope you are able to get home without additional disruptions. Airports and airplanes, a necessary evil. Makes for a very long day/night.
Just need to finish packing up my toiletries, and I think I'm done. Today's chores include cleaning out the fridge, and a few other housekeeping items.
I normally don't get real anxious before trips, but this one has me wound up. Last year when we took off, it was for 6 weeks, but didn't involve any airports or hard departure times...

Traveling is so stressful!
As is fixing electronic showers. My 150 ft cable worked, and I was able to erase the two previous owner's profiles, but I wasn't able to add my own or adjust the high temp because I didn't have any of the menus the instructions said I should have. I called the Kohler customer service center and they were closed. They close at 3PT and aren't open on the weekends. So the rest if the fix is in hold until Monday. Nothing is easy!
Today I need to tidy up. I have a few friends coming over at 5 to plan a book club. Our first book is Covenant of Water. Has anyone read it? One of the ladies said she's had several friends who said it was the best book they'd ever read. I try not to raise my expectations too high when I hear things like that because the hype makes it not as good as it would have been otherwise...
Hope you all have great days!
Greetings all
Early here for me. Translation: I don't feel like doing much. But there is lots to do. Laundry folding and starting floor logistics.
My rose bushes are astonishing! I will try to post pictures. They almost look fake.
So our neighbor is in the final throes of moving. It's been a circus there - cars trucks and all manner of vehicles over there day and night. That includes the lime green school bus. Supposedly the college student daughter and her boyfriend are going to live in that bus in some sort of warehouse. Sounds horrid to me though I think the bus is fixed up pretty nice. Still, living in a school bus beats taking a trip in a home made submarine that looks like a kinetic sculpture race entrant. The more I think about that submarine thing the more angry I become. What were those people thinking and that poor young kid who did not want to go.
Liz sorry your travel plans are iffy. No fun to wait around wondering what might happen. If there is a purgatory, its likely a crowded airport waiting area with loads of screens reading "canceled".
Roast beef got pushed back to tonight as we had some other leftovers.
Looks like Peps cleaned everyone's clock at the dog shows. Yay.
It's cool and overcast here. Perfect day to nap. Must make myself do chores first. Seems like whenever I eat any carbs (avocado toast today) it's instant nap time. I had a friend who gained weight because she could not go to sleep at night without a carry snack. I used to do that too. zzzz
Bon voyage DD. Can't wait to hear about your travels.
CC no more scorpions. Good on you for starting a book club. Enjoy
