Snorkeling yesterday was fantastic - one of the best times I have had in the water. We are going again this morning and may go on a boat tomorrow for snorkeling because it visits a couple of areas we can't go to off the beach. I think we had been doing too much sitting on the beach most days prior. Snorkeling for 1/2 a day breaks it up. Lots of reading has occurred - I have finished almost a book a day.

The weather in Massachusetts looks like it has been rather cool and rainy. We are hoping it turns into more summer-like weather by the time we get home this weekend. I found it difficult to be cold when we were home between our trip and coming here. Florida seems to be getting the opposite: lots of heat and a lot of rain showers. The golf course where we live has closed for a full day twice in the last week due to flooding.

Time to get a little something to eat before we go snorkeling. Have a true Tuesday!

The weather is all over the place! It's hot and dry here. June is usually a month with lots of precipitation. Statistically the driest weeks in Minnesota are the last two in July. Feels like the end of July right now.

Yesterday was so nice. DH and I went to the beach, where it was perfect. No bugs either! We had a dinner of sandwiches and Cole slaw on the porch. So many birds were at the bird baths, it was like an aviary. The mosquitos didn't come out until the sky was dark, around 10pm. I didn't finish the book I started, but maybe today. :)

I'm going to run a few errands and do the other stuff I blew off yesterday. (It was well worth it)

I had a fun lunch with my neighbor and another new friend yesterday at Enchantment Resort, which is just up the road from me. Gorgeous location in a canyon, big windows everywhere. The food was excellent.

Today the alarm people come to hook mine back up. Stressful as I hate alarms and I'm hoping what the a/v people did is compatible with what ADT does for monitoring. I wouldn't have one at all except it's required for my homeowners insurance.

I finished up PT for my neck yesterday. I'm glad I did it. It really helped and it wasn't getting better on its own.

It's getting hotter here. It's supposed to be near 100 by next week! 112 in Phoenix. Time to go, although it's incredibly dry in MI. They are at less than 10% of their normal rainfall. El Nino gives to some areas and take away from others.

Today I need to call the house watchers and see if they will take on my house while I'm gone. Nothing like procrastinating until the last minute!

My eating has been better. I seem to have lost my spark again. Argh.

Not much else going on here. I hope you all are well!

I couldn't take it over 100 - people often say it isn't that bad when the air is dry but even if it is "better" that is still too hot!

The PT for my shoulders which should also help my neck starts a week from today. I can't say I am looking forward to the twice a week appointments but I hope it helps with range of motion. The cortisone is still working but it doesn't ease my inflexibility of course.

100 degrees is hot! BUT.... I can attest to the fact that DRY heat is much more tolerable than the humidity of the east coast! I wilt and feel like a sweaty pig at 80-85 on the east coast if I have to do anything outdoors other than sit in the shade. Here, where we have "dry heat" I can be outdoors, work in the yard, go for a walk and feel perfectly comfortable at 85 degrees. I don't really mind the heat here until it hits about 90. In Connecticut/NY my comfort level was 70-75 degrees.

I agree on the difference but luckily on Cape Cod we rarely get above 80-85 and generally have a sea breeze (not true temperature wise inland of course). I do think the humidity is worse around Philadelphia and maybe NYC though as I lived in Philadelphia in my early years and I do remember it being stifling.

Greetings all

It's almost warm here. I bet it's about 62. Yeah damp heat is hotter and damp cold is colder. Midwestern summers were so hot and sticky for me that I did little outside. Much better here. But having just been to palm springs I know that I can't tolerate significant heat in any form. But my hair dried in no time!

Scrabble today and I won all my games. One game I had 4 bingo words and over 500 points! Person I killed was a good sport but I can tell he hated it. He forgets when he beats me.

DD glad you had a lake day to get over the visit with the parental figures. I sure know how all that negative energy can be triggering. Some times at my mom's all I could think about was escape. Maintain healthy boundaries.

So I stopped at a bagel place after scrabble and was listening to the radio while munching. When I was ready to leave, I could not get the car to go into reverse! Remember this is an all electric car so it was absurd. I got out the owners manual to try to trouble shoot, put the key fob in the secret compartment in the console to make sure it was connecting, and turned it on and off about 10 times and tried to shift it about 40 times. I was about to call DH and next attempt it shifted like usual. Go figure. Not sure if I will tell DH. I seem to be electronically challenged.

Steak tonight. Time for a nap.
