CC's lives in such a picturesque place! Like being in a park. Though the snakes and scorpions wouldn't thrill me... My BIL and SIL have a home in the north side of Scottsdale at the base of many trails. They have a regular visit by a pest company to try and keep the critters under control.

Off to Aruba in an hour. We will be there by dinner time. DD and her BF are on a 6:30 am flight so they arrive before noon. Of course they had to get up at 3 to go to the airport. We try to avoid that kind of early morning angst. Our close friends from the Cape flew yesterday to avoid Saturday travel completely.

I think I packed lighter. DH was teasing me about having a carry-on in addition to my checked bag but it is mostly full of snorkeling stuff. I would have to forego that or some shoes. But I only have 3 pairs of sandals and a couple of rubber flip-flops. DH is only bringing one pair of sandals and his sneakers (which he will wear on the plane). Unfair comparison. And my checked bag isn't overstuffed for once.

Not much sleep last night as usual prior to travel. Time to get showered and dressed. Have a super Saturday!

Wishing you rest and relaxation Liz! How fun to travel with friends and family.

I agree, CC picked a beautiful place to live. I haven't traveled in the Southwest at all. Lots of Minnesotans go to Arizona for the winter. Someday...

Just a beautiful day this morning. Nothing like the feeling of summer break. :) I have a busy day today, but tomorrow will be much less structured. I like a mix of these kind of days.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone!

Thank you! I agree that without the spectacular views, the snakes and scorpions would be hard to make peace with...

The red-spotted toads in my fountains were so noisy last night. I turned the lights on and watched them swim around. Also could see the bats swooping in the lights. Nature is crazy here. Caught two toads mating in there this morning. I am sure the chlorine tablets are not good for them. But the fountains weren't made for them!

I think some time by the pool would be nice today. It's supposed to be in the high 80s. PT was yesterday, I think I'm turning a corner (and able to turn my head to see what's coming!).

DianeS, did you see Murphy's baby eagle os getting closer to being released? How fast they grow.

Liz, hope you have a fabulous and relaxing time in Aruba. DD, enjoy the start of your summer!

Have a great dy, everyone!

Now the sound of toads cavorting and bats flying I would enjoy!

Greetings all

Sun is out and neighbors are having a garage sale. I am facing the reality of new flooring and going through my baskets of papers on my desk. Most is getting tossed. My desk counter and file cabinets are going to have to be moved for the floor so the papers have to go. I have informed DH of the stuff he has to start moving out of the house. Me thinks he is in denial.

Yep CC you live in a wondrous place. Noisy toads and bats. Signs of healthy environment. And yes, I have been watching Murphy and the eaglet which is now, of course, as big as Murphy. Not sure if its in the flight enclosure yet but I guess it needs so see some eagles fly to get the idea and Murphy cant do that.

Liz don't you wish you could wear sneakers everywhere. Actually thats what I sort of do but then I never wear a dress. Have a great trip to Aruba. Any sand sculpture expected?

All this paper shuffling is kicking up dust and boy do my sinuses know it. I feel like I snorted mustard.

DD looking forward to hearing about your long summer. Enjoy. Theater tonight?

Shrimp for dinner tonight. breakfast was a canadian bacon sandwich. It was the saltiest thing I have ever eaten. Think I will toss the rest.

Gallery duty in the am. Hoping for a busy day up there.

Back to the papers. Three grocery bags to toss so far.

I'm cleaning along with you! The exterminator comes Thursday and I'm going to have him spray inside, so to accommodate that and to help keep scorpions out of my stuff, I need to go through the final boxes in my closet. Got through 2, 4 to go. My goal is nothing on the floor. Ought to make cleaning easier too.

Going through old papers is definitely sneeze inducing!

Actually I tend to be uncomfortable in most sneakers, probably because of my bunions. And my feet get hot. The only ones I can wear for a long period are Allbirds which are made of soft wool (and are machine washable). That's why I wear flip-flops so much. My SIL swears by a sandal made by Clark's with a pillowy sole and coming in a gazillion colors. She even wears them in Massachusetts in the winter as long as the temperature is above 45 or 50.
