The sun is out though it is cooler than the norm. Last night it looked super hazy because of the smoke from the Canadian wildfire. That doesn't happen often here though I know some of you are more used to experiencing it on the west coast of the US.

Today is my DSD's 50th birthday. Seems so amazing - she was 8 months younger than eldest DD who would have turned 50 in October. Hopefully we will see her in early July after we return from Aruba.

Our travels after Aruba are going to be deferred for a bit due to exhaustion and my shoulder. We originally planned to go back to Florida for July 4th week to get some more stuff done at the new place and acclimate Justice. But with the PT and our travel fatigue we decided against it and are going to stay at my place on Cape Cod that week while DH's daughters and friends stay at his.

But today we have to travel almost 2 hours to central Massachusetts for the funeral of a close friend's brother. I am dreading the drive. I am looking forward to not doing much in Aruba, then somewhat staying put the rest of the summer (though multiple appointments every week don't thrill me). Retirement can get awfully busy.

Have a warm Wednesday!

As I was headed to bed last night, there was a cricket in the hall, so I grabbed the handvac with the scorpion in it and sucked it up. This morning there is only the scorpion. As my friend said, stop feeding it, you're just making it stronger, kill it! How to do that, I am still determining. I may just empty it into a ziploc and throw it in the trash. Blech. I don't want it on my shoe and stepping on it is the only other thing I can think of!

My dad is still in the hospital. He said he's got a blood infection (thanks, lazy doctors for not changing his stent 12 hours earlier) and off some drugs, but his kidney function is good. Thank heavens for small favors. Still a few more days in the hospital. His wife's endoscopy included several biopsies. Praying those don't uncover anything bad.

Nothing else going on here. I've been less diligent about carbs and my sensor keeps scolding me...

Take care, all!

I sure hope your Dad and Stepmom do well. Really, growing old is not for sissies.

Our son is on a business trip in Philly. He flew into Newark initially, and said he could smell smoke even through all the planes filters and air exchange! Strange days indeed.

Some rest does seem to be a good idea Liz. You've been going at 110% for so long.

Shirl, you too! Your virus sounds like a doozy. Rest when you can superwoman.

It's a relief that your Dad's kidneys are functioning normally CC, but infuriating that he ended up with an infection.

2 more days of school, only one more day with the kiddos. They're the reason to do this kind of work.

Weight going down ever so slowly, but down none the less. I'm going to hit it hard these next few weeks, then concentrate on maintaining while we're traveling. Its up in the air whether or not I'll be able to even get the Wegovy refills I need. International shortage! It's supposed to let up in September. If I can even just maintain whatever losses I have by the time my current supply runs out, that would be a win, and I could hit it hard again in the fall.

So do you feel you are on a diet or is the loss just "happening "?

School vacation in 2 days. Yeah!!!

Greetings all

It's overcast here but pleasant. No wind. The stories of the east coast smoke. I am reminded of a few years ago when CA fires made the sky turn orange. Not fun. Hope there is some relief from those fires.

Liz sounds like you had better slow down for a bit. Did they tell you what to do and what not to do? Yeah retirement is a busy time. I don't get people who think they don't have enough to do.

Yay DD school almost over. Glad the Wegovy is helping but yeah, anybodys guess on supply. Why do they invent this stuff if they cant make enough of it.

CC you mean that scorpion was still alive in the vacuum cleaner? Horrors! I would have tossed the entire vacuum cleaner! Maybe your new friends have some ideas for scorpion and cricket defense.

Studio staff dinner tomorrow. I have to bring food. It will be whatever looks good in the deli, continuing my no cooking mode. Deli salmon again tonight which was quite good last night.

So I have been looking through drawers trying to find an old gold bracelet that came from an aunt. My brother sent it to me. I had forgotten about it until brother reminded me. Now I remember but still haven't located it. But i sure have found a lot of little boxes and bags of jewelry. Much was my mothers - pearls and such - and some stuff I have no clue what it is or where it came from. Also lots of pairs of old glasses. Way too much stuff. The gold bracelet was kind of a charm bracelet only with gold coins. Hope I can find it. This is not the first time I have hidden something only to not be able to find it. Yikes.

CC hope your dad recovers and can get out of the hospital. Gotta be no fun for him. Thinking of your dad too, Peps and hoping for uneventful days.

We watched a movie last night called "Reality". The story of the young woman who got in trouble a few years ago for mishandling a classified document. Very interesting.

Shirley so sorry you have been so sick. Please don't overdo things. Get well and be safe.

Stay well all. Cheers. Diane S

I think you can give old glasses to the Lions Club if you have one in your area. They redistribute them all over the world.

I hope you find that bracelet! It sounds really unique. Strange how stuff "disappears" when we put them away for safe-keeping.
