Big moving day! We were able to move enough with our car yesterday to stay here last night. Today we get a truck to move the rest and to take any usable items we don't want (other than the furniture we are leaving) to Habitat for Humanity. I might also pick up a chair for one of the bedrooms there.
A few things to deal with at the new place: I need to balance the fan in the bedroom (they did tell us about that during the inspection); Getting the TVs and Wi-Fi hooked up; Getting the previously mentioned chair while we have a truck; buying new sheets (I bought one king set to try which were inexpensive - they are okay but not what I want - I ordered the expensive ones this morning); moving some furniture around; and finding a table for the lanai so we can eat out there and small kitchen counter stools (probably not until the fall).
Not much else going on in this world. But in my other world the AC isn't working. I'm not feeling good about that as it is 23 years old.
Time to get motivated. Have a terrific Tuesday!

Lazy day all around yesterday. I did take a walk. I also talked with one of friends from my old neighborhood. She wants to come see me for a few days mid June before I head to MI. Should be fun. She's a lot, but she thought she'd onlY stay for 2 nights.
Woke up 1.8 pounds lighter than I did yesterday, but still 2.4 more than before the party. How does that happen when I didn't eat that many calories (though what I ate wasn't low carb)? Oh well, soldier on.
The landscapers are jackhammering for a last tree. Makes me wonder if it's a bad place for a tree if it requires a jackhammer! Oh well, he guarantees it for a year.
No plans today, but I need to tidy. None of it is cleaning tasks - I stay on top of that - it's just things without homes. I am so bad about not finding places for things and so they sit out or end up in piles. And then I stop seeing it all. I set a 15 minute timer yesterday and got to work straightening yesterday. It's amazing how much got sorted. I wonder why I can't do that all the time? Grr.
Off to make some eggs. Take care everyone!
One really does have to wonder about having to jack hammer to plant a tree!
I'm sure your weight will settle down if you are back low carb. Our bodies really do take advantage when given the opportunity.
I hate things not being in place so you can imagine how having boxes everywhere will drive me somewhat crazy. But I am too tired this afternoon (it is 4:45) to do anything more. We still have to get some miscellaneous items mostly in the garage or decorative items too large to put into boxes tomorrow. Then we have to go to Habitat for humanity with a big haul of stuff. Who needs 8 glasses of 7 different varieties???

He said the hole will be much bigger than the root ball and will do fine. We'll see! The guy who's been jackhammering all day got in trouble for going to Las Vegas instead of to work without telling the owner, so his teeth are getting rattled...
I have boxes of stuff for Goodwill! Why I can't make myself take it over is a mystery...
The last week of school sure is different this year! Instead of finishing up with kids and closing down a classroom, I am inventorying 6 classrooms of musical instruments, music supplies, etc.... 2 of the classrooms are being packed up to make room for new Universal Pre Kindergarten classrooms. 1 classroom was integrated into another one at one site. We have completed packing one classroom and finished moving out all instruments from one class to the other at the other site. Tomorrow we shall tackle classroom #3 pack up. Right now it looks like the remaining 3 classrooms will simply need to be inventoried. Fingers crossed. One of my music cohorts resigned today. But as fate would have it, one of our old music teachers wants to return to the district and the district reached out and offered him a job. Looks like for the first time in 30 years I will actually have a male team member. That will be fun!
Oh, I also had to finish cleaning out my old 3rd grade classroom because my student teacher who was hired to replace me DID NOT step up to the plate and was let go. I'm a bit peeved with him because it was his job to lose. Several of us went to bat for him because he didn't interview well and got the district to reconsider hiring him. I left my personal collection of teaching supplies with him to use. Now that he's leaving, I had to make sure all my personal items and supplies were packed up and moved home.
Don't even get me started on eating choices. I will deal with that next week. Between my dad, end of school chores, trimming dogs, etc.... I'm eating without too much thought. Though, weight is stable.
Congratulations on the new condo, Liz! Looks pretty nice from the photos.
Blessings to all!
A lot of work involved at end of year! It must really peeve you that your replacement couldn't stick to it.
Getting our things just so does take a lot of effort, but feels so good when it's done.
Pretty uneventful day at work. Although I did have to send out some emails that required responses from my department, and let me just say some of them have no business getting irritated with students who don't follow directions. Not sure how such intelligent people struggle to complete a sign up for a potluck.
We brought DD to the airport, she is on her way back to Boston. She is definitely not back to herself entirely. I'm afraid it's going to be a long haul, but she seemed better than she was in March. I heard notes of genuine glee in her laughter that were missing for so long. Then they were gone. But hopeful, just the same.
I am sure DD will continue to improve with you and DH's help. We do know our children don't we?
Following directions requires paying attention to what is written/said. Unfortunately many people just want to "cut to the chase" and not bother. I have a BIL who is incredibly bright but when one tries to give him direction (which he asked for btw), he gives hand gestures to hurry you up - he wants a summary, not details even though one really needs the details.
