I woke up before dawn and thought, what the heck, I'll watch the coronation. The British sure do pomp and cir****tance better than anyone! I'm going to need a nap today.
Being up this early, I am seeing the balloons again. With the sun rising at 5:30 here, no wonder I've missed the balloons lately.
Since I was up, I went ahead and attached my first continuous glucose monitor. It doesn't hurt at all. It does need two hours of no food or exercise to calibrate, so still 40 minutes until coffee. Can't wait. I am looking forward to my first test - does my coffee creamer do anything to my blood sugar.
The irrigation guys come back today hopefully to finish the system and test. Then will come the planting of the trees and refilling of the trenches.
Food was good yesterday. Eggs and bacon for breakfast, missed lunch for my hair appt, steak and a big salad with veggies for dinner, raspberries, cheese, and pistachios for snacks.
Glad your shot didn't make you feel icky, DD! Can't wait to hear about your dinner Liz and Shirl!
Take care all!

PS - Show recommendation! The Diplomat on Netflix...
PPS - I read this about Wegovy. DD, I think you got it just in time! "Novo Nordisk said it anticipates that many people will have trouble filling prescriptions at the lower initial doses through September."
"The supply interruptions aren't expected to affect higher doses of the medicine for people who already take the drug, the company said in a statement posted Thursday on its Wegovy website."
Greetings all
Early check in today since I missed yesterday. It's sunny and nice here (hint DH mow the lawn). I had gallery duty yesterday and we had some visitors and sales. I made a quick grocery store stop and got a steak for tonight and some food for dogs. DH went to the Thai restaurant for lunch yesterday and brought home lots of stuff. I had some veggie and tofu stir fry which was quite good. Very filling and only a small bit of rice. I think asian restaurants put in lots of peanut oil and soy and salt which gives that wonderful asian taste but may not be especially healthy. I pretty much cook only with olive oil as it seems every other kind of oil is on the bad food list.
CC sounds like you are on a good eating path. Steak and salad is a winner any day. It will be interesting to see the sugar monitor. But I cant believe you watched that coronation without coffee!! Horrors! I heard the choir was good.
DD glad wegovy is going well. We are watching with great interest.
Peps sorry you are sore from workout. Is it possible to exercise meaningfully without pain? I am a wimp. Any discomfort sends me straight to the couch.
An unexpected package arrived yesterday. It's a small smooth garden stone with the name "Chip" engraved on it. A memorial from my vet office. Nice.
Liz and Shirley have fun. Wish I could be there.
I am considering going to the nursery for plants. Maybe I will wait until monday when fewer people will be there.
Yes, the Diplomats is a great series. Just you wait for the final episode. I think it is getting a season 2. Meanwhile, we started "The Silo" last night. Post apocalyptic time in the future - you know the drill- but better than I thought. No explosions yet.

I will check out The Diplomat. I just finished Little Beautiful Things on Hulu. Brought me to tears a few times, beautifully written.
CC I only watched a few snippets of replays of the Coronation. Hoping to find a replay so I can watch more of it. Fascinating stuff. And yeah for hot air balloons, so pretty to watch.
I went to a baby shower for my niece today. Nice to see many of my other nieces, and my sister in laws. This niece shares her name with my sister in law who passed away. When I wrote her name on the card, my heart squeezed for a moment, thinking about the sil who is missed. If you are lucky enough to grow old, there will be a lot of goodbyes... Also some beautiful hellos as we happily wait to meet the new baby.
I am trying not get crazy, but I am so optimistic about this Wegovy. In my reading reviews, one talking point I'm seeing is it cuts down on "food noise" in your head. I remember reflecting on that after surgery, that thoughts about food were no longer overpowering all other thoughts. I would go to a party and think more about who would be there, what would we do, instead what kind of food will be served. Food became part of the melody, not the only sound I heard. So liberating! That is what I've been chasing. Anyhow, feeling good! DH starts the second dose, .5 on Monday. Interested to see if he notices a difference.
It is 8:45 am on Sunday in New Zealand. We leave for the airport shortly for our 3.75 hour flight to Sydney. We are meeting Shirl and her DH for dinner at a restaurant in Bondi Beach which looks like it has some real Australian flavor.
We aren't in Australia very long but we do have a tour tomorrow. Unfortunately it is probably going to be somewhat gray there as it was here in NZ.
Time to go! Have a super Saturday!
Just want to mention that like our arrival, the departure process at Auckland airport was the smoothest/quickest I have ever experienced at an airport of any size. Why can't other airports in the US (and Aruba) follow their example?

We flew from Queenstown to Australia and it was an absolute nightmare! We were there 4 hours before our flight and had to run to make our plane. They had ONE agent working check in for hundreds of passengers on multiple flights and all of the self-check in kiosks were down. So glad you had a better experience!
