Hola from wet and dreary California... Like my friends in New Mexico and Wisconsin, I am rather sick of winter weather and need spring to come back and hold fast. The boys are refusing to give up the shorts they started wearing last week. Fun to see the boys running through the rain in their shorts to get inside! Though there is a group that would rather be outside anyway playing basketball.

Glad to read I am not alone in my thinking. You know the old saying... Misery loves company....

But given that I do want to improve flexibility and maintain mobility, I will have to do something sooner rather than later.

I have been over napping the past two afternoons. I guess that only proves that I am over doing it on the weekends and need a little extra rest, but I miss the days I could be over scheduled and on the go with no physical ramifications. Yet, I suppose for my age I'm still a mover and a shaker. LOL.... I keep myself pretty busy.

Happy hump day to all....

I too am very inflexible. I went to the PT yesterday and she did lots of measurements. Like angles of my arm when lifted, how far my head can go to my shoulders, head rotation etc. and had me do some easy exercises, that I wasn't sure I was doing right. Like trying to pinch my shoulder blades together. I have very limited movement there. And I was trying to stretch last night and my hips are incredibly inflexible right now! I've never struggled with sitting crosslegged, but now my right hip is not behaving. Sigh. Entering the take care of it or lose it years... Pilates was so good for that. I ought to start again.

Food continues to be fine. A big salad with chicken for lunch, a hamburger patty with cheese with cooked mushrooms and some tomato on the side. Berries and some pistachios for snacks. Healthy keto. And I took a walk after dinner.

Today I am going to a lunch for my women's group. Not sure what I'll have. Maybe a salad with meat of some sort on it. I might go to the arts center this evening. They are having an open house with drinks and food trucks. My neighbor who does glass art invited me to come. This might be one of those "I said yes, but really didn't want to go and almost didn't, went, and had a great time" moments.

Anyway, I need to go think about getting showered and dressed. Have a great day everyone!

Yeah - flexibility and mobility are critical to be able to live life to its fullest. I want to get on a year-round yoga schedule which I was on before COVID but have only done sporadically since then.

We are waiting at the airport in Tahiti to fly to Auckland (5.5 hour flight). I got everything packed okay but why does my stuff seem to be expanding? I haven't bought much...

Yesterday we mostly just hung out at the bungalow and swam off the deck. Really nice to have the quiet time and privacy after being with a lot of people on the ship.

We board in about 1/2 hour. Next post from New Zealand! Have a winning Wednesday!

Greetings all

The rain has passed and it's sunny again. Major mood lift. Yesterday was wet and yucky. I must get going on the deck planters. All the good stuff will be gone. I saw my beloved sweet peas at the health store two days ago. Must jump on the preferred colors.

Yeah folks, aging is all about maintaining flexibility. Nothing makes you look older than stiffness. Also feel older. I am pretty stiff but must come up with some movement programs. Gallery afternoons tomorrow and friday so there is no reason I cant do some stretching and bending while holding on to the desk. Liz I am not sure I could do that ladder into the ocean. Pool ladders are hard. But move it or lose it. At least I know I will likely never need new knees because I have not worn them out jogging. I tell myself if I cant get a handle on eating then I must at least do a little moving. Easier in nice weather. And maybe I will pretend I am gaiting a dog around the gallery.

House cleaner is here. Poppy is helping.

CC what kind of glass does your friend make? Is it fused glass? Our studio has facilities for that and a load of expensive glass someone gave us. Nice stuff. Google Fire Arts Center in Arcata. Enjoy the social stuff.

I have rediscovered greek yogurt too. The FAGE brand tastes good with a little honey. I ate that every day for breakfast for 8 years. Then I suddenly could not stand it. 5 years later I like it again. I am slow.

I will stop in at the studio today. meanwhile time for avocado toast - my new addiction. Diane S

I opted out of the evening - I'm pooped! She has responsibilities there so I'd be on my own anyway...

The lunch event was nice though!

She does slump glass? So not blowing, but she layers different glasses and heats them together, slumping them over forms in her glass ovens.

Yeah we don't do glass blowing as it takes a boat load of equiptment and money. What we do is fused/slumped glass with multiple firings. It is beautiful stuff. ds

Yes! That's what she does. She has quite the studio in her home with several ovens in the garage.

I like Fage best too - with honey sounds really good!

At long last a beautiful spring day! What a pleasure to just traverse the parking lot at work in comfort, instead a biting wind.

Very quiet evening, DH was out with a friend tonight, so yogurt for dinner :)

2 more work days to the weekend, 25 more teaching days until break. Whew!
