Well, I did okay on the food front yesterday. Salad with veggies and chicken for lunch and salmon with broccoli for dinner. Some raspberries and an iced coffee I made myself midday. Eggs for breakfast today and I am going to lunch with one of my new friends. The scale was much happier with my eating yesterday than the day before.

I really enjoyed the food on the cruise I went on. We did a tour of the kitchens and it is really fascinating how they manage to cook for several hundred people all day long...

The landscapers are here weed whacking a perimeter around the house, but I think they are whacking too far back, but given they are half done, seems like saying something now would be too late. I will tell the head guy next time, not to go back so far. Aside from the trees, most of my yard is just natural grasses and wildflowers, which now those seem hacked to bits. Argh.

I might just go shower so I don't have to witness the carnage...

Started the thread for today, too, but CC beat me by a few minutes, so deleting and moving my post to here.....

Hi all,

Can't believe I'm first today! That is a rarity!

All is well with me, though I am seeing that I am keeping a little too busy for my own good. The first weekend in May involves no dog shows, so I will plan a bit of relaxation that weekend (said he with a wry smile, knowing it is unlikely to happen....)

Food is on point for the most part. I'm feeling pretty comfortable these days, so that's a nice thing. I'm kind of tired of the stress that worrying about weight and body size triggers.

The truly valid reason I have these days is to lose some weight to improve my flexibility and mobility. I think dropping a good chunk of weight (even 20 or 30 pounds) would help my hips, knees, ankles and feet.

Brother and I took the last things out of my dad's house last night. I took a few more things than I was planning on, but some things appeared that had sentimental value for me (e.g. my mom's button basket...) that I couldn't let go. I guess that's not too surprising. Interestingly, the time spent at my dad's triggered anxiety about my own "collection" of unused things becoming "trashified" in the closets and garage of my home. I must dedicate some days this summer to some serious purging.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Purging is not easy! I had to do a ton of it when we moved from our home of 20 years to Cape Cod. But now I have had that home for 14 years with 9 of it as my primary home. So there is a LOT of stuff again. When I was cleaning out some of previous DH's things, DS wouldn't let me touch a lot of it. So it sits unused. I want to sell the house in 18 months or less so purging is going to have to happen.

Makes me think of Swedish Death Cleaning. Basically paring down your stuff so it's not left to your heirs/executor to have to do it. It has a ring to it!

Greetings all

Mid day check in for me as I scurry around getting ready for this trip. Amazing myself at what I can get done if I am motivated. Washing clothes so I have clean stuff for trip, I will likely overpack as I always do, making sure I have baggy stuff for pool cover up. Better find the bathing suit and pool shoes. I tried on the two pool cover ups I bought yesterday without trying on. One is fine. The other looks like a uniform at a mental hospital and fits oddly. Will leave that one out. My brother is super fashion conscious though he may have let some of that go since he has been sick. Ditto him being OCD about his house. We shall see.

Good on you CC for doing well on foods. Yeah roast chicken and salad would work for me. But DH is less than thrilled with deli roast chicken. I bet the yard mowing works out. Stuff will be back in no time. Do they want you to keep stuff cut back due to fires?

I am cleaning out my purse for this trip. Amazing what is in there. Several cheese sticks of uncertain age, numerous grocery lists, and about two pounds worth of coins. Jeez. Trying to print my boarding pass but cant figure it out. Neither can DH who is a certified UNIX administrator. At least it's in my phone if I can find it. I feel insecure without paper. Guess they can print it when I check in.

Peps glad you have a non show weekend. Every weekend is sure tiring.

Party tonight. Its drinks followed by dinner. I am trying to calculate how early we can leave without being rude.

Well back at it.

LOL on the boarding pass - Mike always needs a paper copy but I prefer it on my phone. If we are somewhere where we can't print it he prints it when we get to the airport.

I lost my fairly long post a couple of times. Stupid me not to copy it first before submitting - but I did copy before the second time luckily. The internet connection has been the worst this morning.

I am sure the grasses and wildflowers will grow back eventually but it sure is frustrating when what you request is misinterpreted.

The trip to the Motu yesterday was very enjoyable and I surprised myself by successfully paddle boarding without falling. I think I still prefer kayaking though. The trip to the Vanilla Plantation was interesting but a bit ho-him and the snorkeling was somewhat of a repeat. There wasn't much coral so not many fish but lots of sharks and stingrays which we swam with previously. We were tired by the evening so we had salads for dinner via room service.

Today is a repeat island and we already did the one excursion that had appealed so we are just going to hang out by the pool and maybe wander in the town if it isn't too hot. If we were anchored vs. docked we could swim or kayak off the back of the boat but that isn't an option here.

Shirl and I have been corresponding and may do a meetup when we stop there in early May. Wouldn't that be cool!

Have a winsome Wednesday!
