Well, I sprayed the peppermint spray and they stayed away today. We'll see.

I saw my neighbor at the fiber arts presentation yesterday. She said she'd heard I had a nice time meeting my other neighbor and said we should have dinner. I said sure! She said great, how about tomorrow at your house!? That's the second time she's done that. Eek. In her defense m their house is on the market, she is leaving tomorrow morning, and they have showings while she's gone so she didn't want to get it dirty.

So she and the lady who makes the clothing (her friend who is staying with her) and coming and we invited my other neighbor. Thankfully she offered to bring takeout, so I don't have to cook. I should go get some wine though. I never have it. And I should run the vacuum and clean the powder room...

Food wasn't bad yesterday. Must keep that up.

Gotta love people who invite themselves over! LOL! However, I get it.... I rarely offer to host more than a few times per year...

I had some foraging moments this week in my eating. I wanted sweets and found them. Sigh.... However, I'm still well below my red line high, so at least I have that.

Dog shows again this weekend, but they are local so I will get to come home and sleep in my own bed, which is always a big plus on dog show weekends.

20 more teaching days, 25 more work days. The last 5 will be spent doing inventory and helping Admin with their end of year needs.

We are supposed to have a temperature of 80 degrees today. Bliss!!!!! Let's hope it sticks.

Am toying with the idea of going to the Airedale Floating National (meaning the location changes each year). This year it is in Minnesota! If I go, and that is still a big if..... I'm hoping that just maybe it won't be too far from DD and we could meet live and in person! I'll be in Washington County in the town of Stillwater. Is that close to you, DD?????

Yes, yes, yes! Stillwater is a kind of artsy river town, about 45 minutes away. Would love to meet up! Hoping the dates are when we will be in Minnesota. We leave for about a month June 25. Does this mean I could meet some of your dogs too?

If I come out there, it will be the last weekend in August. I would have Buster with me, but no one else.

I will definitely be home at that time, because alas, it will be workshop week.

PS - a woman I had really enjoyed meeting at that women's group day trip reached out after seeing me post on NextDoor about my bats. I asked if she'd like to go for coffee or lunch sometime and we're having lunch next Friday! Maybe a new friend!

CC, sounds like your group of potential new friends is growing quickly! I am not surprised. But it would somewhat annoy me if someone came up with the idea of a group dinner and suggested my home. But maybe that is a sign that they feel comfortable with you?

The internet is via satellite here BTW. I just think some of their technology may need an upgrade. Hard to tell since the last time I was on a ship was 10 years ago.

We had a good day NOT doing any excursions yesterday and ate at the nicer venue last night which was very enjoyable. I figured out how to use the underwater camera I had purchased after finally getting an SD card yesterday (we thought it was included with the camera). So I think it is ready for use the next time we snorkel. Today is an "at sea" day which means more time to relax. The next two islands we stop at were not on our first week so there will be new explorations. We are going on an e-bike tour tomorrow.

Have a fulfilling Friday!

E bikes really interest me, but after years and years of not riding a bike, I worry how much my tush will hurt. The last time I rode any distance, it wasn't the pedaling that got me (although hills were NOT my friend) it was the pain of sitting on the seat. Maybe e bikes also have better seats, it was a very basic bike that I was riding.

We rented regular bikes in Hilton Head and the seats were super cushy - no tush pain! Hopefully these seats will be similar ;)
