So nice to see Peps check in about his fantastic dog show weekend successes!

The right side of my face has now caught the cold from the left side. Does anyone else's cold progress like that? Just as one side is getting better, the other goes south. I was up for hours sneezing in the middle of the night and was maxed out on cold meds, but was able get back to sleep and stayed in bed past 9. The irritation guys came today. I was wondering when they'd be back! They are moving vast amounts of PVC pipe from the street to around the house via an excavator.

I was looking at some of my plants yesterday and several of the cacti in my yard look like they might bloom. That will be exciting to see. I have no idea how showy or underwhelming the blooms might be.

Can't say I got anything else accomplished yesterday. I didn't eat poorly. Still not much appetite and it's oddly exhausting to eat when you can't breathe through your nose and have to chew and breathe at the same time. I'm sure it's looks as awful as it feels. Haha.

I think that's it. No plans today! Hope everyone else is well!

Feeling sick is not fun! Yes, I have definitely experienced the migration from one side to the other.

Has your extreme water leakage been fully resolved yet or you still looking for additional sources?

Bora Bora is beautiful but like most of the other islands the living is fairly basic. There are a LOT of hotels with overwater bungalows which are just falling apart. Apparently the leases ran out some years ago but they were never renewed. There are large packs of dogs wandering around especially near the dump (apparently their food source). It appears that dogs who have owners wander as well but they look a lot healthier. We have been told there is essentially no crime as everyone knows each other so there are no secrets. Definitely feels like a trusting culture- when we dropped off our scooter the other day we just left it with the keys even though no one was there (they told us to do that).

Off to snorkel. Have a timely Tuesday!

Interesting about Bora Bora. It always sounded so tropically glamorous to me, but maybe showing some wear and tear... Plus sal****er is so very unforgiving to anything we build.

The major leak is solved. It was a fountain water level float overflowing into a spill drain (like a bathtub). I never would have seen the evidence of the leak aside from the bill...

Hope you're having a great time!

Good thing you found that leak.

It is glamorous on the resorts still open (the Conrad, 4 Seasons, St Regis). The pictures one usually sees are probably taken in those places. Regardless the natural beauty of the land and the water especially all the teal and blue colors are stunning.

Greetings all

DH is watching the worst possible sci fi show. Fortunately I can do this and play computer scrabble. I did some errands today to get cash from the bank, check in at the studio and pick up a few groceries. I kind of like getting a few things every two or three days instead of the monumental weekly grocery march for tons of stuff. I think it's a change that came from vsg and now it's a habit. I used to go get a cart of stuff at the discount grocery but now can't imagine it.

Bora Bora sounds charming Liz. I like that super laid back attitude of tropical nations. too bad some of those hotels are falling into disrepair but mother nature gets the final word. Is it possible to have a good time if you cant do a great deal of walking? (asking for a friend).

Yay Peps you and your dogs rock. You are the ones everyone is watching out for! Glad you get to travel in style and comfort plus win big. My dogs main skill these days is farting.

CC was it auto correct that wrote "irritation" instead of "irrigation" Lol funny. glad the leak source is discovered. Hope your cold retreats soon. Looking forward to hearing about the cactus blooms. I so love cactus and succulents. We went to a huge cactus garden in Scottsdale I think. Giant stuff. But beware if (when) you get a puppy.

Eye doctor tomorrow and gallery Thursday. Ho hum. Diane S

There are definitely activities if someone can't walk a lot - tours on every island. Of course snorkeling is big. Everyone seems relatively healthy on this cruise - we are probably about the average age. There are people who don't do long walks due to replaced joints, etc.

I would imagine these higher end cruises work very well for people with mobility issues. My Uncle has Parkinson's, and that is why we are going on this cruise. I've read through the excursions offered at each port, and they describe the amount of walking and stairs involved.

Peps, I think I know a dog show celebrity: you! One of my kids favorite books: Go dog, Go! That's Blitz!!

CC what horrible virus has you in it's grip? I know stuff goes around that's not Covid, this sounds pretty rough.

Liz, I can't imagine how beautiful the water and sand are in this area. Maybe it's good to see the truth, not only the fancy parts of a place. Cool that the community is so trusting. In general, people must have what they need...

Diane, has your DH watched the new Lost in Space series? My DH really likes sci to too. That one took awhile to get through. Sci fi and action adventure are not really my thing. ( There are some exceptions, I am a Star Wars fan).

Work was fine today. I wrapped up at contract quitting time, so I got home a bit earlier than normal. We didn't work out while DD was home, but we got back into it today. Always feel good afterwards, must remember that!

I made a follow up appointment at my WLS clinic. Since I was there in September it seems like my insurance changed their policy on Wegovy type medicine. DH took his 2nd shot (it's once a week) in 8 days he's lost 6 pounds. He says he does feel fuller longer. And he doesn't feel good if he overeats, so it's easier to stop. So far he doesn't have some of the unpleasant potential side effects like diarrhea or nausea.

It's a cold! I tested, but it's just a plain old nasty head cold. Runny nose, sneezing, watering eyes, cough. Fever the first day. This is Day 5... My nose is RAW.
