Today is travel day .

I am all packed and just need to clean up and go to my hair appointment. I just spent this morning arranging for some dog care while DS is at school next week. He didn't give me the dates until this morning!

Yesterday I had a tooth filled because the filling fell out while we were in the Florida Keys. Apparently it was a deep filling near the root so the dentist is sending me with antibiotics in case it gets infected AND I need a cap done when I get back because the tooth is cracked. Old teeth...

Oh and I seem to have developed a cold in my upper chest (negative for COVID). Great timing...

Off to the airport in exactly 4 hours. Who knows what food will be though I am bringing cheese sticks.

Have a thoughtful Tuesday!

Bad night sleep! It's warm so I slept with the sliders open (screens shut). The coyotes were SCREAMING at 2am then again at 4. Sounded like they were right outside my door. Then the balloons were up at the crack and drifting over the yard with the burners firing. All somewhat cool things, but disruptive to sleep.

My hair appointment was canceled yesterday and rescheduled for Friday. Not sure what I'm doing today but likely involves making some phone calls I hate making. But that'll get some things off my list.

It's another 86 degree day today, then should cool a little. But cold is a thing of the past until next winter!

Sorry so many of you are sick! Take care of yourselves!

Time for AC?

Not yet. It was 51 last night despite the warm daytime temps, so it felt comfortable, it was just noisy!

Ooh, I thought of something to do today. I need to go get wasp traps. They are out of control around my house.

Wasps - not fun. I forgot how much the temperature vacillates out there!

Beautiful weather here, it was 73 yesterday, and looks to be about the same today, and maybe 80 tomorrow. Then back to the 40s this weekend. I'll enjoy the weather while I can.

Liz, hope you just need some rest, and cold will not materialize.

CC the temps you describe are delicious for sleeping. That happens a lot here in the fall, 70s and 80s in the day, 50s at night. Is it time for the pool yet? Do you heat your pool, or rely on sun and air temp to warm it?

Very sad news at work today. A student passed away last night. They have not shared cause of death. This student was on my caseload last year. The world is beautiful, but also brutal, and full of pain sometimes. RIP young one. You mattered, and it's sad to lose you too soon.

My quarantine is going fine. I slept in for hours and hours. I still don't feel sick, just a bit congested and tired. But I could feel that way without a positive Covid test. But since I am following district guidelines, I won't feel guilty about being at home, sleeping :) and sleeping.

DD and DH went out for lunch. They asked if I wanted them to bring me something. I said no. Vacation eating needs to stop for me. I had a nice bowl of Greek yogurt, with peaches, Torani sf syrup and cinnamon. I'll probably have eggs and bacon for supper. And lots of Diet Coke. I'll address that one day :) one thing at a time.

Feel better - rest time is always a plus!

Liz, happy travels! Sorry about the tooth and the cold! My non covid cold started as an upper chest thing, too. I think that's why I thought it was simply allergies. Just post nasal drip, irritation and a cough. I didn't get head snot until 3 or 4 days into it. That's when I knew it was a real cold.

DD, so sorry about the student. Last week the dog show world lost a junior, too. Only 16. So so sad. She died from complications from Covid.

It is a short week for me at school. I have Thursday and Friday off for dog shows... I don't feel guilty for taking off, either. At this point in my life, recreation and enjoyment matter. I'm still careful about how I take days off, but I no longer feel guilty for doing so. LOL! Was a time I felt guilty for taking honest to God sick days. But, back in the day we were made to feel as if we should come in to school unless we were bleeding or barfing...

Eating and weight are fine. I had a single day where the scale showed my "mini goal". However, that was a quick blip and the scale went right back up. Still, all good.

Pet peeve: paid extra for expedited shipping for delivery yesterday. Got an email today that the package is due to arrive tomorrow. I feel like I should get my money back for the expedited shipping. Will have to contact the company and see what can be done.

Puppy Molly is having her first heat cycle and it's what is called a silent heat. She is ovulating with NO OUTWARD SIGNS of estrus, but the boys know she has ovulated and all three have nothing but sex on their minds in her presence. Guess she's not going to the show with me this weekend. Not fair to the boys...

Got GOAT 3.0 set up for 6 dogs and I am much happier with the set up. It's the same set up as I had in GOATs 1 and 2. Wish I had just done this originally. Would have saved myself 2K not ordering custom crates for this rig! I may just go ahead and sell these new ones, or set them up in the Ford van, which I still use for the local back and forth shows and going to the vet.

Hopefully, I will have time to check in during the week.

You definitely should get the extra for expedited delivery refunded. Most reputable organizations wouldn't have a problem doing that.

Poor dog "boys" - Ruled by their instincts!
