Yesterday it was super calm at the beach and in the water so it was HOT! Would have been a perfect snorkeling day...
Speaking of which today is our last beach day, with dinner (salad) at a local Tiki bar. First a Justice walk though. I hope it isn't as hot as yesterday as I was sweating a lot.
Not much sleep again last night (about 3 hours). Probably the anticipation of the next leg of travel.
Have a well Wednesday!

No plans today! Yay!
I wrote a check to the landscaper yesterday to start my irrigation project next week before the ground dries and it gets dusty. I hate writing big checks - makes me anxious! But it'll be good for the yard. He's also going to plant a bunch of trees to help with screening. Makes sense to do it now as it's Spring and they are already tearing up the ground and can direct irrigation to them.
I did find one big leak in one of my fountains yesterday - the float on the auto-fill wouldn't stop running and it has an overflow. That might be one of my problems. The other fountain's float had a drip. Both are being replaced today. I might still have a leak in the landscaping line, but I will work on sleuthing that today, looking at the meter and watching it for a few hours with no water used to see if it's moving.
Operation "stop eating so many carbs/sugar, CC" went well yesterday. I did have a few Triscuits (my favorite), but otherwise stuck to my plan. The scale has moved downward back into overweight territory. I also walked 2.25 miles yesterday and will do it again today.
I think that's it for me. Off to start the day! Have good ones everybody!
Boy, I have been tired lately! Last night I felt downright depressed for a little while, too. I think the gloomy, rainy weather is beginning to really get to me. Also, my grandma dog who turned 14 on Sunday is having some geriatric issues. I think that her health might be weighing heavily upon me. I was so pulling for her to reach 14 and watching her have a really bad day the day after her b'day was tough. To top it off, all three of the vets I use at the clinic have left during the last few months so I am needing to find a new and competent vet for my pack. That is unsettling stuff.
Weight stuff.... oh well.... what can I say? No sense being a broken record.
I had a moment on Monday. I went to my dad's house to drop off a part for the downstairs shower and noticed that the haulers came and took everything away. Wonderful, right? I lost my cookies because they took the damn ladder. I wanted the ladder. I'm not sure why it never occurred to me they would take the ladder. I didn't mention to my brother or the realtor I wanted it, so my bad, but it upset me unreasonably. I figure it is really just the finality of selling my dad's home and that this is truly the end of an era. My brother and I are clearly "the parents" now.
Dog shows last weekend were mixed, but successful. Again, I was caught up in the success of one dog, who was not successful. LOL! However, 3 other dogs of my breeding were very successful. Just the one I really wanted to win and earn her championship did not. Sigh....
Glad things are going well for everyone. I do read pretty much daily. Just haven't been inclined to post - lately because I just don't seem to have the energy.

It sounds like you have lots of things that would drag your mood and energy down, Peps. Very understandable. The gray cloud that hangs over you with a declining senior beloved pet is one I know well. So draining to be on constant guard for what they need, what they are feeling, and trying to judge best when it's time. And and end of a phase of your dad's life is hard (plus, I totally get the ladder thing! I was mad over a few things the estate sale people took from my dad's house).
I noticed even as much as I love inclement weather, I perked up when the sun came out here. Hope the same happens for you!
Miss hearing your voice, but understand!
Aging dogs and aging parents. Neither is easy to deal with. Your weight may be up but you are more physically fit than anyone I know. I am sure your energy level will improve.
Greetings all
Sun is out in spite of a few sprinkles. I will take it. I did my little treadmill time this morning so I am feeling smug. Missed yesterday due to being out all day long. If I don't do it by mid afternoon it just aint gonna happen.
Then I went out and about and stopped in the studio. Stuff to glaze but I didn't get it done which means nothing in Friday's fire. Oh well. Then I stopped at the seriously hippie dippy grocery. All avocados were rock hard so I guess they will sit. I did buy some roasted veggies from the deli which I love. Also the year's first asparagus. I wish DH liked veggies more.
CC glad you are getting something done on the water issue. That much leaking is like a zillion toilet flushes!. No fun to write big checks but no getting around it. Hope it all works and gets fixed.
Peps sorry that your vets are leaving. Another covid product I think. I read somewhere that there is a major scarcity of vets. My niece has quit it to teach high school science because so many pet owners were nasty. Hope you find a good one soon.
Plans are underway for our puppy two year birthday party April 16. The other two who will attend seem to want to make a huge event out of it with tons of food. News flash. I am not inviting hardly anybody. So must communicate. You all know my phobia about entertaining. Must keep it simple.
Liz sounds like a great beach day. I just realized I have not been to any place hot in a long time. I need to go to see my brother in Palm springs but gotta go soon before it's too hot.
DD glad to hear our eagle chick is the star of the local news. Of course it is. Will there be some kind of contest to name it? It sure is a well fed little thing. But how many calories are in raw trout?
My friend whose husband died suddenly is having trouble getting a refund for the cruise they had booked. They had insurance. So I will do a little consumer law research. So unfair.
Cheers all. Diane S
