VSG Maintenance Group
03/26/23, SUNday
Feeling industrious. I got some supplies at Costco, and I've now repacked them for lunches. The big bags of skinny pop were such a good deal, so I just portioned some out into zip lock bags for snacks at work, as well as green grapes, and then I put serving sized portions of Greek yogurt in tupperware, along with SF Torani syrup and cinnamon. I'll add blueberries in the morning. This should make the week a little easier, plus keep me away from the vending machine.
That's a great way to control eating. When I worked the daytime was fairly easy to control because I packed breakfast and lunch.
Greetings all
The sun is out but I am not. However I did my treadmill walk again today. Two days of anything might be a record for me as I am woefully inconsistent and undisciplined. Also drank a Fairlife protein drink.
One reason I have hesitated to do much exercising is because my legs hurt a lot and I believed they would hurt more. But yesterday after walking I think they hurt slightly less! Hence me reading about muscle loss and protein. I also had a conversation with a sleeve friend of mine here who was talking about her legs hurting and we talked about protein. So she is going to try getting more. She is 80 years old and used to live in a house with 55 steps which I think kept her pretty strong but now is in a different house. I may try to get her in our group here. She lived in Mexico for a number of years but is back here now.
Anyway I am proud of myself for this tiny bit of walking. It's so much easier since there is something to hold on to. Not scary like other walking. Ain't no 5k but it will do.
And k5 and a beer Ocean Diane! Good for you. Hope the washer gets fixed soon. Yeah delays in doing anything (read:procrastination) is a major issue for me and always has been. Sounds like you are rocking that department too.
So I got a boneless pork shoulder roast and it's in the slow cooker right now. Starting to smell good. Perfume for the dogs. Bay leaf, garlic and Japanese bbq sauce. We shall see.
GLLiz with all the traveling and packing. My sil, who traveled all the time on business, stayed packed all the time. She bought two of everything - cosmetics , toothbrush, toiletries and all that stuff and just kept a travel bad of that all the time. Makes sense.
CC love the look of those chairs but sorry blood was involved. Hardware store guys usually know lots. Glad they helped.
DD you are so good to pitch in and help your daughter with tasks like the passport. That makes a big difference to a person who is feeling a bit stuck. She is lucky to have you.
We started watching Night Agent last night on netflix. A good spy thriller. DH is enthralled. More tonight with our crock pot pig meat.
Well time to get my hair washed in my glorious new shower even though it's now a year old.
One eagle egg appears to have a hatch pip but the dang eagle won't get off the nest long enough for me to peek! Diane S
Awesome on the walking! I don't think it takes Herculian effort to see positive changes, just moving always the first step.
I understand your happiness with your shower, even though you've had it a year. I got my car with heated seats before Covid , (I never had them before!) and I still love them so much and am so happy to finally have them. Things that make your life more pleasant on a daily basis are treasures.
Good to hear that your walking helped your legs feel better. Mike watched Night Agent last night after I went to bed early. He enjoyed it too so now I will have to catch up.
I have 3 sets of toiletries: one at the Cape home, one in the Florida home, and one in a toiletry bag which I always keep full. That part is easy, but shoes and clothing are harder especially since Tahiti and Hawaii will be warm but New Zealand and Australia will be fall weather.
