Good morning Ocean Diane and all! Lots of conversation about exercising. I feel good about our daily 3+ mile walk, but unless I am in one spot it is difficult for me to do anything additional such as yoga. I know I can do it alone but it just never happens.

We leave the Keys in 5 days. Today we are going to Key West and planning to attend a jazz session at an old hotel mentioned to us by our wedding officiant last year and some friends this year. There are also a couple of shops there I want to poke around at. This will be our last day in Key West. Potentially we will go snorkeling tomorrow (depending on wind) and likely will have 1-2 beach days. Friday we drive to St. Augustine for one night, Saturday to Hilton Head for 6 nights, followed by one night in DC on the way north to visit with Mike's son. That lands us on Cape Cod on the Eve of Easter. We will have 2 full days to see my kids on Easter, repack, get our hair done and fly out for our Tahiti trip on Tuesday. I am feeling a bit anxious about everything coming up.

And that anxiety may be why I was wide awake until 5:30 am this morning. I dozed for perhaps a bit over an hour and then it was time to start the day. Hopefully I can function okay today and will sleep tonight.

Have a super SUNday!

Good morning. Ocean Diane, I was thinking about 5Ks yesterday as something to strive for. Could be a fun social outing, and they are usually fundraisers. My DD did a couch to 5k audio program one year. I was thinking when the ice is truly gone here, I could try it, except instead of jogging, I would power walk those sections of the tape. Vancouver sounds lovely, but seeing your DD sounds best of all.

Liz, there is a lot of planning and details that go into your adventures, I can see why that makes you feel some stress. It will be lovely to get on that cruise and have everything taken care of for you for a time. Are you maybe going to the Casa Marina for your jazz? At any rate, that's where DH and I honeymooned. It was just what we wanted, very happy memory.

Yesterday was a fun time at the birthday party, and then we had a long phone call with DD. I think she's moving forward a bit. We're trying to help how we can. For example, she lost her expired passport, so now instead of renewing online, she has to reapply. DH scheduled her appointment, and is mailing her a copy of her birth certificate, the printed forms, and a check since she doesn't have personal checks and he wants to save her a trip to get a certified check. She is supposed to be going to Rome in June with a group of friends for their 10 year reunion of their study abroad program. We don't want her to miss it because she was too overwhelmed to renew her passport.

Today I will get some grocery shopping and laundry done. One week, and I'll be on spring break. Then onward to June.

The jazz is at The Gardens Hotel which is on Angela St between Duval and Simonton. Casa Marina looks lovely! I don't think we have ever walked by there.

What a great way to support her. All the little details for things like renewing a passport can be so overwhelming...

A power-walking 5k sounds like a terrific goal!

Well, I assembled chair one of six! Blood was spilled. I dropped the back on my big toe. Then I searched online for a video of how to put it together and found one with all sorts of ideas on how to position it to put it together solo without bleeding. YouTube can be so helpful! It also showed them using power tools to do it rather than the included hand tool, which prompted an 8pm trip to Home Depot for a 4mm hex bit for my drill. A very helpful guy working there cobbled together parts to get be what I needed as they didn't have stand alone metric hex bits. It worked. So onto chair number 2 today.

I went to Costco to console myself after the toe incident and bought lots of healthy protein foods. My weight yesterday put me back over the obese line. Ugh. I can do it, I just wish I didn't keep putting myself in this position to have to.

The sun is shining from now until Thursday. Yay!

DianeO, well done on the 5k! And a 9:30am beer? I have zero critiques as I am drinking a 10am Diet Dr Pepper. Liz, enjoy your jazz and hope the winds make snorkeling fun. Tahiti sounds like paradise. I don't think I know anyone who's been to Tahiti!

Take care everyone!

PS, the chair is super comfortable and easy to get out of and still very Adirondacky... if you're ever in the market: https://www.polywood.com/modern-curveback-adirondack-chair-a d620.html

Yes, it does have a southwest feel while still being an Adirondack. Very nice. Sorry you had to pay the price of blood loss!

Good looking chair! I hope the rest of the chairs go together much smoother.
