At the beach again. There is a beautiful breeze and there aren't too many people on this beach.

Yesterday we only stayed in Key West until around 1. There were some interesting characters on Duval Street and riding bikes - a LOT of green. We stayed away from the crazy bars as we were tired from the day/night before. We ate at a place we have been to previously and they had the best corned beef and cabbage I have ever had at a restaurant (I usually prefer my own but haven't made it in quite a few years now). I was craving it so was very happy and ate it for two meals LOL.

Justice was super tired last night - too much activity with the other doggies for him I guess. He was happy to go on his usual morning walk today.

Have a super Saturday!

I was reading a post by the Sedona Fire Department about a swif****er rescue they did yesterday to get a car load of adults, kids, and dogs out of Oak Creek, which is lower than the video I posted, but still raging and half way up the windows of their pickup truck. I learned there is an actual state law in Arizona called the Stupid Motorist Law!

"It states that any motorist who becomes stranded after driving around barricades to enter a flooded stretch of roadway may be charged for the cost of their rescue. If public emergency services are called to rescue a flooded motorist and tow the vehicle out of danger in Arizona, the cost of those services can be billed to the motorist, plus additional liability of up to $2,000."

Liz, I think if you can suspend your incredulity about why the vicar in the Inside Man started down the path he did (which I don't get either, but I think it was showing how sometimes people make one really bad decision/reaction to a situation and it snowballs) you will enjoy the rest!

Yesterday I really was going to work on my taxes, but I got an email from the HOA that they wanted me to fill out applications for changes to the house (one retrospective?!) and one for changing out my irrigation and they were meeting Monday so if I could do it NOW that would be great. Sigh. Busywork. And the downside of an HOA - especially one with 11 built houses and too much time on their hands.

So taxes today and some cleaning are what I have going on.

And maybe some time outside as it's beautiful.

PS - my food hasn't been great. Some rebellion to all the togetherness of the last few months and now being alone. Comes out in eating. I really need to find my equilibrium!

Are you able to get out on your hikes/walking? That might be a place to start.

Stupid Motorist law sounds reasonable. If you're stupid enough to drive around a barricade, then we'll still rescue you, but we're not bearing the cost. Fair enough.

Every state should have a Stupid Motorist law!

The beach sounds wonderful. Its sunny here, but still bitterly cold. The weather column in today's paper said the sun is too high in the sky in March for it to remain this cold, and the warm up is coming. Its kind of bizarre to have a sub zero windchill, but also see melting on asphalt because the sun is indeed warmer. I'm sitting in my reading chair by a big window with a southwest orientation, and the sun does feel nice.

DH is now touring every museum they have in Essex and Salem while he waits for DD to finish classes. We have tickets tonight to a Gilbert & Sullivan Operetta. I am still planning on going, despite the cold. A dear friend from high school is performing, and I really want to see him. I went to all his plays in college and he sang at my wedding. I haven't heard him flat out perform for awhile. I'm a little nervous about parking, because its in a part of Minneapolis that is notorious for limited parking, and with all the snow, its snow emergency rules, meaning there's only parking on one side of the street. I figure if I absolutely can't find a safe place to park, I can just turn around and come home.

On the maintenance game, I've had a good week with food, and was rewarded with a little downward movement on the scale. I'll take it. While it feels like I keep losing the same 5 -10 pounds only to gain it back over and over, I think about where I would be if I didn't keep trying. So I keep trying. My viewpoint: obesity is a chronic disease, and WLS can put it into remission (probably not forever, on it's own), but its not a cure. A life long fight. But lots of people struggle with life long chronic diseases, or even more than one, so I can keep going too.

I hope you are able to get a parking space and enjoy the show.

Greetings all

It's overcast here but not raining. I'll take it. I have done a little washing and a lot of clothes folding and putting away. I am thinking of doing something rash: throwing usable clothing into the trash. Around here you are an environmental criminal if you throw stuff in the trash that is recyclable. Yet at the same time, there is trash in all the ditches and creeks because it's really hard to get rid of stuff. Charities are really picky and dump fees are high. So I feel guilty about tossing some clothes that don't fit or I don't like but somehow I don't think I will go to hell for tossing a laundry basket of stuff in the trash. Rationalizing?

Tomorrow I will go help my friend whose husband died unexpectedly. It's about a 40 minute drive away and I decided not to try to smu**** in with other errands and activities since my activity tolerance threshold is not what it used to be. Maybe I can hit costco on the way back.

Liz glad you had a beach to yourself. Nothing better. We are spoiled around here as beaches are big and people few. There is one that caters to people with horses! I used to take my old dog Tiger there to make sure he learned to behave around horses. He did.

Yep CC I agree that the vicar's actions in Inside Man were about how any ordinary person could make a bad decision in a split second and then face an endless cascade of consequences. Some message about karma or fate or personal responsibility. Did you ever read that book "Bonfire of the Vanities"? Similar premise. Excellent read. Anyway I predict a second season with something similar about Grieff.

DD hope you can get to your show. That sounds like a good place for valet parking but I bet they don't have it. Amazing how much our lives are controlled by parking or lack thereof. The university town here is trying to build housing for the expanding college population in an already tight housing market. They want taller buildings where everyone rides a bike everywhere with no parking lots but it just aint gonna work. And I am so glad your DH was able to help DD. Museums - great idea.

Well I accidentally bought some fake cream cheese. Some vegan stuff. Actually not too bad but I don't see much advantage.

Back to laundry and checking up on eagle sex. Diane S

Fake cream cheese is weird tasting IMHO. I hate throwing clothes or furniture away but it doesn't seem to be easy to give away sometimes these days. Mike had some really expensive well-made suits to donate and it was hard to find a place that would take them.
