Friday, March 17, 2023: St. Patrick's Day
It is St. Patrick's Day but I won't be wearing green since I really don't have anything because it just isn't my color. Teal/aqua is more my style.
Yesterday afternoon we had a truly fantastic sail around Key West with an extremely brisk wind. We were on a schooner which also sails in Camden Maine in the summer. Last night out to dinner on Sunset Island was lovely and I have leftovers that I doubt I will eat. I only ate about 1/4 of my meal so took the rest but somehow I don't think crackly salmon will do well reheated. No birthday cake/pie as I was too full. Maybe we will pick up a slice of key lime pie today to take home. This morning we had breakfast on the porch watching the boats alongside Mallory square. A huge Carnival Cruise ship snuck in overnight but luckily is far enough down the pier to not block our view.
Today we will poke around some more here and maybe go to a couple of places celebrating St. Patrick's Day but we aren't sure. Justice is staying with a person I found via Rover.com and seems to be having a good time. The woman who is the Mom of a young child does dog daycare and boarding in her home as her full-time job. She takes it quite seriously and has sent a bunch of pictures and videos of him. He looks pretty darn happy!
Pictures will be on FB when I get a chance. The internet is a little finicky here for some reason.
Have a super St Patrick's Day.
Happy wear'in of the green ya'll !! I'm meeting friends for lunch at our favorite Irish pub for a Reuben or Corned beef dinner... which ever I feel like. I still have no desire to be out after dark, with bunches of elderly drivers who may have had one+ too many. I hope to go kayaking for the first time this season, over the weekend !!
My weight is starting to creep... a pound here, a pound there. I'm a pound above my upper range, and too much of it has been seasonal ice cream places opening up again. Homemade ice cream abounds !

We watched the first one but were a little baffled by how it tied together until near the end. I still can't figure out why the Vicar acted as he did.
Thank you all for your very kind words about our daughter. DH sent me a pic, he is cleaning her bedroom while she studies, and then he's going to take some things to a laundromat while she is at class tomorrow. The type of tasks it is hard for her to get to in good times, but pretty much impossible when you're depressed. She's good at ordering groceries delivered, but he's going to assess does she have some easy to make things.
So in all the ru**** dawned on me last night that DH was landing in Boston at 11am on ST. PATRICK'S DAY!! He looked up the parade route to see if it was going to be a problem driving to DD's house. He said everything went fine. Normally you don't need a car if you're staying in Boston, but DH wants to drive her to Salem tomorrow for her classes. In further proof he is the best Dad ever, he's going to hang out in Salem for 8 hours, waiting for her to finish classes. He'll have lots of time for finding a laundromat.
Liz, I would imagine St. Patrick's Day in Key West is pretty rowdy. My memory of Key West is there is very little needed for the party to commence. I still remember one bar's slogan. , See the Keys on your knees. I managed to stay on my feet. :)
Since it is 12 degrees here, with a wind chill of -7, I am staying in and celebrating St. Patrick's Day under a blanket and watching Netflix.
