Is it the 13th already? Hopefully not an unlucky day for anyone. Several of our children are bracing for 12-18 inches of heavy wet snow though Cape Cod should be spared.

We were exhausted yesterday after DSS visit. We had leftovers last night and will stay in tonight. The second load of laundry is in the wash and we are on the way to the beach. The only challenge the next few days is boiling water for drinking and dish washing. Good thing we read alerts!

Have a munificent Monday!

Hope it's a relaxing day (despite the boiling of water!)!

Well, my folks are off on their trip home this morning, but not before my dad spilled an entire cup of coffee and blueberry yogurt on the wool family room rug. Sigh. I've been working on it with the Bissell carpet cleaner (leftover from Fergus) and now hydrogen peroxide with some, but not total, success. At least now I have a valid excuse for a new rug! Maybe something washable like Flor rug tiles...

It's so quiet in here! (Except for the poor bird that just flew into the window. Big windows in a bird-filled area are a bad combo).

I think I might work on my tax stuff compilation today. That and laundry and stain clean up work. And start thinking about what my routine will be alone here. Walking/hiking definitely!

Off for another round of carpet cleaning...

Good luck with the rug cleaning (or not...). Poor birds - in the spring they even run into our small windows on Cape Cod sometimes.

Greetings all

It's absolutely pouring rain here now. It was not so bad earlier when I drove to the gallery and a few brave souls came in but it really picked up around closing time. I had to pick up our pizza in the pouring rain - maybe a message from the cosmos regarding pizza?

One thing about being at the gallery = there is nothing to eat unless I bring it along. Empty fridge there. So it's good. I mostly walked in circles around the place.

CC sorry you have to clean that rug. Wool rugs are wonderful to walk on barefoot but not so much if there is yogurt on it. Hope it cleans. And you might have to put owl cut outs on your windows or put up a big fake plastic owl outside to keep the suicidal birds away. Years ago we had a bird that used to bang its head against the glass over and over trying to pick a fight with its reflection. We finally had to paper over that window. Hope your snow is on the way out.

Liz rest up from your partying!! Love how you enjoy life. And kudos in the bocce ball tournament!

We watched the oscars and it was not that exciting. The song written by our nephew's friend did not win and it was kind of a big yawn anyway. Guess I will now have to see the everything everywhere movie. I have not seen any of them.

If this rain keeps up there will be some flooded streets. Not likely ours but I may be reluctant to drive to scrabble tomorrow as some of the highway runs along the bay and may be iffy. We shall see.

Not much else. Tried a new pizza variety - chicken club.

Anybody ever try acupuncture? The idea of needles creeps me out but I am getting so achey and gimpy I need to do something. Guess I could try gummies - I am probably the only person in this county that does not use them.

The coffee has not come out. Ugh.

I thought Everything Everywhere was so weird!! Jamie Lee Curtis's part was kind of fun, but I don't understand or enjoy multiverses and this left me laughing, but for the wrong reasons. I just couldn't believe what I was watching. The two main actors (who both won their categories) were good though. The story was just too strange for me.

I bought this UV liquid that is invisible to people, but apparently helps birds see the glass. It comes in a bingo dauber applicator. I have just been too lazy to do it (and the windows are so high and big and I am afraid of ladders).

One of our young friends had acupuncture to treat a gastro problem (I forget the name, but its when your intestines lose the ability to move things along in its normal wave kind of motion) . Anyhow, it was pretty serious, and did not respond to treatment until she tried acupuncture. Her descriptions of the sessions sounded so relaxing. They would start with a warm bowl of incense sitting gently on her stomach and the lights dimmed. I could go for that!

Yes Liz, a few low-key days sound just right. I remember when we were in Key West they told us don't run the water hoping it will become colder. It's coming from a pipe from the mainland, not an underground aquifer. Hope they patch it all up soon.

CC, sorry about your rug! I imagine it is s change to have them leave, it's like becoming an empty nester.

After 5 days of consecutive days of snow, the sun came out for awhile today! There's a southeast facing window by one of the classrooms I teach in. During passing time this morning, I stepped out into the hallway and stood at the window with the sun on my face. Felt awesome.

Speaking of awesome, the concert we went last night was a delight. And they played Moon Dance. :) I'm really happy we went. Remember that old question, what are you really hungry for? This, I'm hungry for live music. I left very full.
