Good morning! On my way shortly to visit my parents between snow events. Not the best travel weather, but if we don't go now, I'm not sure when we can go next. It was easier when my Mom wasn't so housebound. If we hadn't seen each other for awhile, we could meet halfway for dinner at a restaurant. I know my Mom really misses being able to do that. In the summer she, and my daughter and I would meet for girls lunch. That era has passed, and I miss it too.

Last night's happy hour hit the spot. A restaurant near us has an awesome happy hour menu, with lovely craft ****tails for $8. Around here, they would be priced $14-16 normally. We have our ****tail, an early dinner, home by 6, jammies by 7. Perfect Friday night for this 60 year o!d!

Isn't it the 11th? Snow travel is something I don't miss though I do miss the beauty when it is falling. I'm glad you had a good happy hour! We found a new spot yesterday afternoon for the same thanks to Mike's DS investigations.

I had typed a post and forgot to press submit, so when I did yours was here, LOL. So repasting:

Our Bocce team is in the playoffs! We missed the last 2 games of 14 which the team won. We are the 14th seed out of 16 teams, LOL. The team plays on Tuesday. Mike says we are professionals since our team (of 8 people) has been awarded $100 (more $ for each match won). LOL, again!

Nice visit with Mike's DS yesterday - they really talked a lot about the future and his goals, etc. Mike says he has hasn't had as in-depth a conversation in a long time likely because there are usually a lot of people around when they get together.

Today we are going snorkeling, then out to dinner at a great seafood place near us. DS leaves mid-day tomorrow after a short, but quality visit.

Have a satisfying Saturday!

You're right, not the 12th yet. ? Snorkeling sounds so wonderful. I love it, it feels like flying. DH and I snorkeled in Key West on our honeymoon. We had are own equipment, and just swam out off one of the only sandy beaches. Not ideal, because you want to be near some coral or rocks to see the pretty fi**** was memorable though, because we saw a sting ray. Sting ray was nestled in the sand, and as we got closer, it rose up, hovered a moment, than swam away. Beautiful memory.

Liz, it is indeed the 11th!

I am horrified that Daylight Savings Time begins tomorrow. As I get older, I loathe the change of time. It seems utterly pointless to me. What is the purpose of this artificially fabricated lengthening of the daylight hours? It's just BS! Lucky CC in Sedona. She will not be subjected to the change!

I am having some real struggles with my eating disorder recovery. Apparently this is a normal part of the process. However, it sucks. I am dealing with some depression and even moments of anxiety (for lack of a better word) that feel pretty intense. Just a very weird place to be. I don't like it.

Wet weather continues. The California boy is not loving the extra rain at this point. It's the gloom, not the rain that gets to me.

Well, I guess I must get back to trimming.... It's never, ever, ever done. LOL!

We did not make it to my parents. We were about 20 minutes into the drive, going west. The snow was coming in from the west, and every foot we drove, it seemed to be getting worse. My parents called and said it was really ugly at their house, and we shouldn't risk it, so we turned around. We made plans to try again Tuesday afternoon.

So a quiet afternoon, I made us lunch from "the pantry" actually from a few things in the freezer, and then I've been reading.

Peps, not fun to be in the midst of excavating your past. When I was in therapy, my doctor told me, you are going to have to feel the feelings you've repressed. I had some secrets I had to tell in order to get better. I remember trembling in the waiting room before my sessions. Strange to me now, having said the secrets out loud, they don't have nearly as much effect on me now, but sorting through them at the time was discomforting, scary, and sometimes agonizing. And, for me, very, very worth it.

Well, trying to decide if I will keep reading, or take a nap. Perhaps a quick nap, and then more reading.

PS: I hate daylight savings time spring forward so much. Since they moved it up to the 1st week of March, rather than later, its even more awful. I'll be getting up and driving to work in the dark again, it's still cold, it's still gloomy, it's still snowing. It feels like starting winter all over again.

Greetings all

It's still overcast here but not raining for the moment. I agree with Peps - the gloom is getting old. It's foggy here often but somehow thats different. I guess it's because fog is spooky but gloom is just gloom. But it's gonna be this way for awhile. People from the midwest contact me to see if we are ok since the news reports show the entire state as underwater. But we are good,

Snorkeling Liz how fun! A great thing. Years ago we snorkeled off of cozumel where you don't need to be in a boat to get to coral. Loved it. DH and I even have snorkel masks with prescription lenses in them. DH's would not work anymore as he has cataract lenses inserted and is less blind.

Sounds like a nice evening DD at happy hour. And I am glad you turned around on the visit to your parents. Not worth the risk. Stay safe.

Yeah I am at a place 12 years out from vsg where I feel hungry often but still don't need to eat a lot. I need to find some dense protein no prep foods. Guess I could get a cooked chicken breast at the deli and cube it. I kind of got burned out on jerky.

Peps you have a dog breed that requires endless grooming! Years ago my friend decided to show pharaoh hounds because they take zero grooming. Good choice but hard to find majors. Your dogs are always beautiful. The work shows. Anyone watching Crufts? I heard a border terrier was group 2.

Not much else. Washing linens today and picking up debris. Story of my life. And spent some time unraveling a couple of issues on the gallery bank statement. Mystery solved.

I ordered some more of the camisoles after finding the one to be comfortable. I think I will throw out all my old bras. How is that for excitement!!

Cheers. Diane S
