Our friends leave mid-day today so we have 4 days of no company (Mike's DS is coming Friday but only for 2 days). We have enjoyed their visit but it is time.

Yesterday afternoon we stopped at a Tiki Bar/restaurant that other friends loved when they stayed here in January. It was the place they frequented the most. We weren't impressed - we visited other places last year which we thought were better. Funny how we all see experiences differently.

Time for a Justice walk. There isn't much breeze so it will be hot, but good to get out.

Lots of laundry to be done this afternoon and we need to think about something healthy to cook for dinner tonight. Maybe grilled chicken and salad?

Have a magnificent Monday!

Sunny again today! I'm up and ready as the landscapers are coming today and the rest of the week to clean up the yard. Most of the snow is gone except in the perpetual shadows. But it's muddy out there.

I downloaded a budgeting app last night and spent some time entering expenses since the beginning of the year. Wowzers. I knew it wasn't pretty, but it's surprising to see it all in one number. And there is so much more on the horizon the next six months. Hopefully it settles into a manageable amount once all the big things are done (house painted in and out, roof re-coated, new irrigation trenched, MI house mini-remodel done, final 2022 taxes paid). I don't like spending money like a Kardashian! It's not my thing.

Food needs a lot of improvement, especially at night!

Hope you all are well. Liz, enjoy your lull between guests! Those are precious moments. DianeS, I will trade you for the extra inches from your pants legs! dD, your discussion sounds like it ended where my brain is. Provide context, but don't mess with art. If you erase everything people object to, you lose the history. And that saying about those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it is right.

Greetings all

Another Monday is another kiln day. I picked up my new stuff and took it to the gallery and did the post office thing and picked up a few groceries. It was dark and raining this morning. Driving 5 miles provides all new weather. But you could not pay me enough to go inland into the snow. No thanks.

Liz glad you get a break. Non stop guests are not easy.

CC don't you hate spending money on stuff that is not fun! Dinner out is fine as are plane tickets but roofing or siding is no fun. But I am having no regrets about the 20k for the new bathroom. Can't believe how much I dreaded the old tub shower.

I was flipping channels yesterday and came upon a PBS broadcast of Les Miserables yesterday. What an unexpected treat. Makes me want to go to live theater again. There used to be lots of good stuff around here before covid.

I have been wanting to eat often lately. Not big amounts but snack snack snack. Not a good thing. I know whats wrong - not enough protein. I did pick up some GY which I ate every day for the first 8 years after vsg. Suddenly I was sick of it but am now ready to try again. Maybe ready to get roasted chicken legs from the deli as I like a good cold drum stick.

Stay well and safe all. My studio buddy has her medical device shipped to she is momentarily calm. We shall see how long that lasts.

Scrabble tomorrow. A couple of days ago I scored 566 in an on line game! Played quartier for 102 points. I am such a nerd.

Later Diane S

When I got to work this morning, I texted DH to ask if he wanted to go workout with me this afternoon. He said sure. I knew if I made a date with him I would go. I don't want to go, even though I know I feel good afterwards, even though I can tell I feel better overall, and can breath much better... I kept telling myself about how the life I want is on the other side of the **** I don't want to do... So I did the thing. And I do feel better...

Tomorrow we're administering the ACT test to all the juniors. I have to be a room supervisor, it's my punishment for being contentious and reliable. People who are prone to calling in sick or goofing things up get to be hall monitors and such. ACT is the most neurotic of tests, so many rules, scripts. And they say that room monitors can't be on their computer, or have a book or their phone... and I do the extended time testing, so I'm testing from 8am to close to 2pm. So I should just sit and stare at students .... Dreadful day. Once this is done, only 2 more times...

Those are the rules, but they get bent sometimes. I follow the rules as closely as I can, I would hate to be the reason kids tests get invalidated.

I would totally feel the same - but it sounds like they need to adjust the rules somewhat.
