Our first Sunday here. We are going out to breakfast in about an hour, then to Key West for a sailing excursion. Sunset at a tiki bar restaurant recommended by a few people and dinner back at the house.

Our friends leave tomorrow so we will have 4 days until Mike's son arrives for a 2 day visit. Nothing else specific planned the rest of the month except for our anniversary/my birthday.

BTW, having company when there is only one bathroom is NOT EASY, especially in the morning. Enough said.

Shirl's trip is amazing, isn't it? Such a different world!

Have a super Sunday!

Bright and sunny here, but starting the day in the upper 50s. Laundering spread, blankets, sheets etc., as my bed smells like a wet dog. I let Sadie off leash yesterday, at the end of our walk and past the larger pond. Didn't she jump right into the smaller one? It was windy so there wasn't a lot of pollen and gunk on the surface, but it took her several minutes to stop swimming and hop out. I brought her to the outdoor dog wash in our community and rinsed her off well. I towel dried her at home, and sequestered her to the laundry room to finish drying. After she regained her freedom, I left to do some errands and came home to find her on MY SPOT in the bed, with water marks radiating out around her. It is a good thing she is such a wonderful dog !

Sometimes I am thankful my little dog doesn't like water LOL.

Silly Sadie! Yes, it's lucky for them and us that their overall wonderfulness makes us overlook their shenanigans!

Gotta love water dogs! Here was a wet shadow from one of ours after coming in from swimming...

I'm meeting my controversy club for brunch. Our topic is, is it ever okay to edit works of art to suit contemporary viewpoints? The original edit I suppose, was putting fig leaves on paintings... Should be interesting. I think no, but then, when we read to Kill a Mockingbird aloud in English class, nothing on earth could compel me to read the n word aloud, so I am definitely editing the original work.

4 adults sharing a bathroom is super challenging. Sometimes 2 is a challenge. DH and I both get up at the same time now when he works his part time schedule. It was a bit of a tussle. Sometimes he is banished to the bathroom on the next floor if he gets in my way too much. :)

After brunch, I think DH and I have a date to Costco. I'm hoping to do some batch lunches, I'm thinking Greek Salad. I used to avoid having them for lunch because it seemed like I could be punishing students with my breath. This year I have prep after lunch, so it's mostly just me dealing with the spicy after effects.

Sunday breakfast of bacon and blueberry pancakes. Yum. In preparation we did salad with grilled shrimp last night. Tradeoffs!

No plans today. It's cloudy today, but no precipitation in the forecast. It'll give us a chance to dry out! Very wet everywhere. This soil doesn't drain well.

I put hummingbird feeders out yesterday. I understand this is a major stopping point for them on their migration route. No visitors yet!

Take care everybody!

I love hummingbirds! The feeders do take a lot of work to make sure they are clean so I have rarely had them.
