We arrived at our home for the month just after 4 yesterday. After bringing all the luggage, etc. upstairs (all homes are on stilts here) we were too tired to go food shopping. So we had dinner out (a salad) and sat on the deck when we came back because I was also too tired to figure out how to work the TV.

The view here is amazing - much better than last year (see below). The place is smaller but cuter than last year but the furniture is not great. There is one super comfortable chair on the deck but we had to move one from another area for Mike. I'm sure we will figure it out though.

This morning we need to do a Justice walk, food shop and shower, unpack at least a little bit to find clothes for today, then head to Key West to meet friends flying in from Boston. They will be here until Monday. With one bathroom it may be a challenge but I am sure we will manage.

Have a terrific Thursday!

What a gorgeous view !! Water is a magnet for me too ! All of these air near misses and mishaps are compounding my usual uneasiness flying. I used to ask my doctor for flying tranquilizers that let me alert enough to follow emergency directions but relaxed enough not to care.

Not-for-Profit steering committee meeting today, then rain heading in. Hopefully it washes away pollen !

When I first started flying I was super nervous due to fear of heights and lack of control. But when I started flying more frequently on business trips I got used to it and rarely feel anxious anymore.

BTW, don't read (or watch) Dear Edward.

Exactly the same for me. Having to fly so much for work cured me of my fear of flying.

Teachers generally don't fly for work, but I became much more comfortable with flying when we started taking lots of smaller trips. I estimate we fly 6-8 times a year now, and that has put me much more at ease.

Greetings all

Not much new today. It's overcast but calm. I am taking Tesla to the vet soon for routine shots and such. I will be getting heart worm and flea meds which is expensive. I should find an alternate source for the meds but maybe later.

Liz that place looks wonderful. Almost enough to get me on an airplane. I am not at all afraid of flying since my dad traveled internationally for as far back as I can remember. We were taken on a short plane trip when very young. Old prop plane when stewardesses wore sort of military like uniforms and passed out chewing gum. It sure would be hard to travel with that fear. I am more scared of the dentist. But what I hate about flying is the intrusiveness and the crowds and the lack of control and how more time is spent getting to a flight than being on it.

More lentils tonight. Then I will have to cook something else. Have a steak waiting.

So today I attacked this pile of clothes and laundry that were piled up. Clean laundry that I had not put away. I decided that first I had to get rid of stuff in the drawers that I don't wear and have a basket full of that stuff now. The new stuff that just arrived is quite roomy borderline too big. Just the kind of store I like - size inflation. I won't send anything back but a few of my favorites will be replaces. And I was wrong about the camisole. It fits nicely and works well. I may get more.

DH will do lunch tomorrow at a newer asian restaurant. Looking forward to some decent asian food.

CC I am amazed at all that snow. Make a snow man? Or just sleep late (my personal preference).

Stay safe and warm all. Diane S
