Nine days left until we head for the Keys. Not a ton to do other than packing away everything personal that remains before the renters are here and packing what we are taking with us. The bulk of the personal stowage has already been done.

Yesterday afternoon it was cloudy and windy so we took Justice to the closest dog beach 30 miles away. It was a pleasant drive and the beach was beautiful: long, wide and without any buildings on it. Justice did a lot of ground sniffing, a little other dog sniffing, and finally broke out into the zoomies romping around us in large circles. I love the joy when he does that which isn't often anymore. He used to have them around the house a lot when he first came 5 years ago and definitely on the beach when free. But he has become a bit more sedate in his last year or 2 (he is about 8 now). I wish we had a closer dog beach.

Hopefully the sun is out today so we can go to the beach club. We can't golf as there is a big tournament here today taking up both golf courses all day.

The laundry has been started and Justice will be having a bath when we get back from Sunday breakfast (or after the morning walk depending on how warm it is out). Have a superlative Sunday!

I love beach zoomies ! Sadie is eight too, and her vet put her on a supplement called UMove, which has really improved her joints and desire to run. A credit for the pipes sounds like a great plan. Peps, you've had quite a dog weekend ! Congratulations ! BB, love the Valentines picture of you, Rich and the girls ! They are adorable (you and Rich too !) CC, how long are your dad and his wife staying with you ? It sounds like you have enough space to spread out and have private time. DD, enjoy the sun !! Diane, let me know how you like the Kitchari.

Time to plan a gathering, ya'll !

Greetings all

A sunny blue day here and it's calm. The art gallery had some big sales (I check on line) so thats good. I work tomorrow afternoon there and checking sales and such will give me something to do. Hoping for another sunny day. I think hail and snow are predicted later in the week. Yes Virginia, it's still winter even though I see daffodils.

Dog zoomies are so fun. Wish I dared let mine loose at the beach but it's just too scary. They get the zoomies here in the house and in and out the dog flap and into the yard. When we bought this house I was not that impressed with the yard but I am now grateful for it when I see the new houses they are building with barely any yard. Like there is a window and a fence 6 feet from it and thats the back yard.

Ocean Diane I did not make your soup as I don't have the stuff. I did make some chicken lime coconut milk soup which was good. Still have the better part of the costco chicken to use. Dogs may get lucky.

I did get through most of my list yesterday and need to make one today. No plans underway.

We started a new series on Apple Tv - Dear Edward. It's quite good.I was afraid it would turn into some sci fi but it's not. Interesting drama.

Peps congrats on the dog show wins! Group 1 is a very big deal. Something most people never earn.

And yeah I am also loving BB's FB pictures on the Disney cruise. Adorable.

No hatch yet on the eagle nest and I am getting worried. Should start any time and I can't wait.

Life is good. Diane S

Good Morning All

Start of the working week for me and my last full week before holidays. We leave in 9 days. Its going to fly and I need to work on not feeling overwhelmed with the sheer workload I still need to get through here. Home part is pretty much done - just need to pack.

I have a spring back in my step today as every step isnt full of pain. The cortizone injection has worked well and I could run up the stairs to the office this morning rather than haul myself up as has been my past 2-3 months. Its amazing when you loose strong pain just how much better you feel.Im not complaining - I need to be 100% to bring everything to a close both here and at home prior to leaving. Oh and to enjoy our trip.

Our washing machine died on Friday and could not be revived so we went out on Saturday morning and picked up a new Bosch. I love it. Not ideal timing right before we go away but at least it didnt happen whilst we are away and DS had to deal with it. The old one went out on the nature strip for hard waste collection and was snapped up within 10 minutes. Win win.

We had mum over for lunch yesterday and I sent up Whats App on her mobile. Taught her how to use it and she will practice this week. It will a lot easier to stay in touch with her whilst we are away. I am her constant so I have my sons stepping up with the contact daily so as to bridge the gap a little. Im just hoping she goes ok. I did extra cooking and sent it home with her. Also took her shopping for snacks etc so shes stocked up. Everything crossed.

The puppies had a bath Saturday as well so they are all clean and bedding washed etc. We spent yesterday out in the back yard trimming and tidying up. It should be fine to leave now. DS will mow and whipper snip to keep it nice. DH sealed the new concrete path so thats good to have done as well. Next weekend we will prepare the farm for us leaving. Our 3 cows are due to start calving whilst we are away so we need to get everything organised and family will come past every day and check them. They have all calved before so Im crossing fingers its trouble free births - if not we have experienced family who will assist.

I had best keep running

Love to you all

S

I'm glad the cortisone worked so well and you didn't have a repeat of the vertigo. Now you should be in good physical shape for your exciting upcoming trip. Always lots going on in your life so it is good that you are getting away (even though I know you will have some before and after pressure). BTW, I think appliances always pick the worst times to break!

Thanks Liz - I hope you have a wonderful trip as well :)

Yes there is a bit of pressure at the moment but once Im on that plane - that will be the switch off. Will deal with it when I get back ......

Re the appliances - its always murphys law to have the expensive ones break just before a holiday but its done now and I love the new machine - its so quiet
