Another warm day in paradise after a tough sleeping night. Justice kept waking up and barking. Mike thinks he is sensing change coming but I think he hears something outside. There have been a couple of bobcats seen in the area.
DD, what is this superintendent thinking???? Teachers already have to dip into their own pockets in most cases to outfit their rooms. Now he is going to take away simple pleasures which cost pennies in the overall scheme?
Shirl, I sure hope the cortisone shot works with few side-effects this time.
We are mostly home for the day with 2 plumbers coming to provide estimates on replumbing the house (the pipes in the houses in our development are corroding at an alarming rate). We figure we should deal with it before selling. Hopefully we also get the P&S signed off on though the lawyer went radio silent yesterday prior to sending a long text at 7 pm. Impossible to answer his questions that way.
Have a full Friday!
DD, so glad to be retired! Delivering stupid mandates and then upholding things you don't believe in are draining ! Shirl, hope the shot goes more smoothly ! CC, as you are settling in, please do post more inside shots of favorite spaces on TT. Liz, wise to do plumbing before selling ! Lots of coyotes here, standing Sadie's hair up. Homes here are selling withing24 hours still, often cash offers with no inspection. Diane, your little town does sound so lovely !!
The play I saw was California Suite 203-204, by Neil Simon, consisting of four "playlets" of couples who have stayed in the suite. It was really quite good, and humorous ! Yeah for local theatre !

Nice play! Humorous is good and uplifting. We only went once this season. I hope we do a bit more local theatre next year.
Greetings all
I am still lounging about but at least I am dressed and fed. It's a beautiful sunny day so people will be out and about. A good thing for the art gallery. I may go up there this afternoon with some new pieces to display. Then I must face the tax return.
DD what you have reported about the school policies is abominable. No coffee maker because of excess electricity? What if you bring your own battery pack? Seriously? Managers don't seem to understand that the most valuable thing in any organization is the time and energy of the professionals. It's not unlimited. They want to get rid of a scheduling clerk because it's a cost number they can see. Time cannot be manufactured and every minute spent doing clerical work is time away from students. Bean counters suck!
And speaking of sucking, I will mention the movie DH was watching ended with a scene of a semi dead body propelling itself through the water by extended farting while grinning. Thats how stupid this movie was.
We watched two more episodes of Poker Face last night including one scored by our nephew. He got screen credit. It was so fun watching the musical enhancements to the events like punctuating notes when she discovers a clue or creepy music when she investigates a murder scene. Very well done. Quirky and dark - DD you would like it
Liz continued luck on the new home. Quite the undertaking.
Ocean Diane, whats the soup du jour??
Not much else.
Time to get busy.
Diane S
My soup du jour was actually Kitchari. This is an Ayurvedic Indian dish I make often. I soak mung dai and basmati for a few hours or overnight. In a big pot, I put onions and ginger in ghee or butter. After that softens, I add the rice and beans. Next, I use chicken bone broth and add whatever vegetables I feel like. Kale, baby spinach, shaved brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots etc. and simmer 10-15 minutes until rice and beans are desired texture. Throughout the week, I eat it plain, or add a protein. Spice with mustard seeds, cumin, tumeric , coriander salt and pepper. Soooo yummy !
