Happy Birthday Peps! I hope you have a wonderful day. It is Mike's eldest daughter's 43rd birthday today too.

I don't think our bocce team is going to make the playoffs though we did win one of 2 games yesterday (by 1 point). That means we will only miss one game when we leave for the Keys in 2 weeks. We are already feeling sad about leaving which is good because it means we really enjoyed the season here. I always feel like I am leaving my "vacation" when I transition from South to North and vice versa.

All details for the condo purchase have been agreed on including a credit for an assessment they had proposed that we pick up. Yeah! Mike was a stickler about not agreeing to that one. The lawyer just has to do a final review of the P&S and we will sign off by Friday. We also need to schedule a home inspection but that will be it until closing time in late May. It will be nice to be an owner again (and to have a place that is ours). It is large enough to potentially house his whole family excluding the ex for a couple of nights. As the grandchildren get older that may work better than week-long holidays. They are starting to object to being away from activities and friends.

Today is water aerobics, then a dinner outside on the clubhouse patio tonight. We have gone to a few of these previously but this will be the first time we go with friends.

Have a warmly welcoming Wednesday!

I just realized that I had several threads I had started with 2022 as the year instead of 2023 - I fixed them. I wonder how long it will take to stop making that mistake???

Good morning all ! I have GOT to make soup more often !! The minestrone I made for Mahjongg last night was sooo good !! There is a chill in the air when the sun goes down and soup warms me up. Everybody brought something, and I'm finally mastering "wasting food" and throwing out the less than healthy things people don't take with them!

This will be a beach afternoon ! The big question is always will it be a brisk walk, searching for shells and sea glass, or a bit of both. I love that that these decisions rule my days !

I meet with a Women Empowerment 501 C3 founder tomorrow to discuss being a speaker at an upcoming domestic trauma conference.

Tossing non nutritious food is indeed a hard learned skill! I keep trying to remind myself, that we the people consuming the food get to decide the serving size, so once it's "served" it's purpose at a party or entertaining, or even scratching that personal itch for say, chips, it is OKAY to get rid of the excess. But not wasting food whew, its tough.

Liz, the new house is sounding just right. Lucky grandkids who will be able to visit Florida in the winter and the Cape in the summer!

The extended forecast for Orlando looks promising, maybe close to 90 one day. I am for that! We leave Wednesday morning.

Until then, the week goes on as always, with early morning alarms, school, students, and a bit of time to relax in the evening. There is something beautiful in ordinary days too.

Mike and I enjoy when we just follow a usual schedule (no appointments or events). Lately a day like that is rare.

Greetings all

Peps have a super birthday! Hope something fun is planned. Of course having month old puppies is a barrel of fun. Enjoy.

today has been super lazy day of hair washing and laundry doing. Used to be a Sunday ritual in my working days but it's any day now. DH make the trek to Costco and came home with a roast chicken. So there is protein to eat. Goodness the price of chicken has skyrocketed so the costco chicken is a good deal.

Thanks for the info on the rabies vaccine Shirley. I had no idea there was anywhere in the world it was that much of an issue. We have had outbreaks around here in foxes but contained. I remember having to get typhoid, cholera, yellow fever and other stuff for the Philippines but no rabies. Looking forward to hearing about your trip.

What Liz, no Sharks in the bocce ball super bowl? Just as well. No pressure. Glad the house thing is progressing.

Ocean Diane there is nothing better than good soup!! The hard part is for a single person you end up with lots. Good on you for tossing unwanted food. Not a crime. I just emptied the fridge of old leftovers since its trash night. A favorite soup is butternut squash and chicken broth and onions pureed.

Well CC, the eagle cam pip watch is on so I will be checking more often. Hoping the chicks hatch and survive.

We got snow inland about 15 miles but just a freeze here. A few plants bit the dust last night. Oh well, we will buy more.

Cheers. Diane S

There was a rapid fox in Minneapolis that was biting people on a very popular walking trail around one of the lakes. They finally trapped the poor thing and euthanized it, but not before several people had a nasty surprise!

19 degrees last night and a good bit of snow that stayed all day because it remained cold. Pretty!

I woke up with no voice and a respiratory something or other. I think this is what plagued my dad (and is still plaguing him). I haven't been out of the house recently otherwise.

Not bad food today, I was too tired!
