Valentines Day, 2023
Happy Valentine's Day! We are staying in so we don't have to deal with the other crowds out on this holiday. We have a function out tomorrow instead. Tonight I will dress up the table a bit with flowers and candles and Mike will grill filet mignon for dinner. He bought the same wine to go with it that we had last year (looked at the pictures we took LOL).
"I am going to eat and exercise for good health and good quality of life" said DD yesterday. I really like that and sometimes I can look in the mirror and feel the same way especially if I have been exercising and eating mostly wisely. Then I look at the clothes I can't fit into and think about Tahiti and my reunion in the fall and feel like I need to get some of this off. So frustrating to return to this point once again in life. Though I will give the VSG credit for it being probably less than half the excess weight than I would have had otherwise (and it took twice as long to get to this point than it used to).
Time to finish coffee and take our Justice walk. Hopefully it will warm up close to 60 by then. It was in the 40's last night. This afternoon is bocce. Have a vital Valentine's Day!

Ah, Valentines Day. The most loathsome of holidays!
I seem to have a very slight version of my dad's cold. Just annoying rather than limiting.
We're close to being done with season 4 of Yellowstone. It has grown on me! Maybe it's Stockholm Syndrome, but I'm understanding why they take so many people "to the train station". (Throw them off a cliff in a vacant county****ep thinking, this problem would go away if they just took Jamie to the train station! And I actually really like Beth now. Not sure how that happened, but she's kind of awesome.
Waiting around for a pop up tv cabinet to be delivered today for my folk's room. We're supposed to get 6.5" of "wintry mix" today. Just when you think spring has arrived!
Food was less bad yesterday. Now to string two of those days together....
I think that's it. Hope you all are well!
Good Morning All,
Peeking in from home. I took a sick day today - Im not super sick but appear to have had a mild reaction to my second rabies vaccination. Stomach cramps, headache n just generally feeling a bit yuk. My DIL is getting 2 wisdom teeth out and my Grandson is home from school today so it worked out ok. I will go over and drive her to the dentist and then home whilst looking after our biggest boy. Will make some dinner too.
Happy Valentines to you all. It was yesterday here and DH surprised me with a single red rose and a potted indoor plant - we dont normally celebrate. I feel its very commercial........ I would rather spoil a loved one without feeling you have to on a particular day.
Its 2 weeks today till we leave for our trip. I think I am pretty much organised with the exception of the packing. The biggest issue will be getting caught up enough for work as no one will really do my job whilst Im gone. That thought gives me major anxiety as I know I will come back to a dreadful mess but I am trying not to let it effect our trip.
My weight is still up - I can feel it in my clothes and dare not hop on the scales again. My own doing and I need to get my head around changing my eating back and decreasing snacking. Its just so hard
I am booked for another cortizone injection in my hip on Friday. Wanted to get it sorted before we go as I dont want to be limited in activities whilst we are away. Im hopeful I dont get vertigo again. Have everything crossed.
Well I had best go and get some things done - make the most of being home this morning I guess. Love to you all

I didn't even know humans could get a rabies vaccine (though if other mammals can I guess it makes sense).
Greetings all
I am checking in before I go hide in the bedroom to escape the solar panel salesman that is coming at 4. DH is such a kind person that he talks to door to door sales people (even the Jehovas witnesses) so he lets this guy talk him into coming back to talk to both of us. Count me out. I absolutely refuse to buy anything sold door to door or over the phone (except girl scout cookies).
Yep CC, Yellowstone is addictive even though it's absolutely ridiculous. I also like Beth even though she is awful. We are now watching one of the prequels - 1923 I think. Yeah the train station. Can't believe all the victims who don't know there is no train station.
Stopped in the hippie coop today for a few things. I had not been in there in awhile and they have rearranged stuff. They do have great produce and a fabulous cheese selection. Tried to find some chicken tenders but all they have are plant based stuff.
Shirley rabies shots???!!! Did I miss something or is that for your trip. Hope the hip shot thing helps you. You want all systems go for the trip.
Nice Valentines day Liz. We are doing nothing. Just another day anymore. Guess we really are getting old.
Pip watch for the eagles starts tomorrow. It's snowing there. My scrabble friend and I are obsessed about the eagles and worried about the eggs. I need to get a life.
