Well, it is Super Bowl Sunday. Though I don't exactly love watching football I do celebrate the "holiday". We are going to the clubhouse for a party and have a table with our friends from bocce. Should be fun though the food is unlikely to be healthy.
Lots of angst around here with regard to finalizing the purchase and sale agreement and estimating future monthly costs. It will be good to get through this phase.
Time to get the first laundry load in the dryer. Have a Super Sunday!
Not really into watching the Superbowl game either. We sometimes attend a party, but when it's a west coast time zone, I don't care to go, as I don't like to be out so late on a school night.
DH just walked by and asked if I wanted to go workout. Since I'm sitting here dressed in leggings and a sweatshirt I guess the answer is yes. More later ...

We're watching the Super Bowl here on the big tv. The sun is shining despite a forecast of partly cloudy skies. Maybe it'll cloud up?
Not much else happening here. Golf watching in a bit. You couldn't pay me to drive in Phoenix today between golf and the Super Bowl! I read they expect at least 12,000 rental cars to be returned Monday at PHX. They are advising doing that 4 hours before flights given the expected lines. Sounds horrible.
Hope you all have a good day!
Sure sounds like PHX should be avoided at all costs! Waiting in lines at the airport is so frustrating and anxiety inducing!
Greetings all
Super bowl on tap here. Mainly because we are too unimaginative to do anything else. The sun is out and my studio buddy has decided she must chop wood. I did not remind her that its been sunny for nearly two weeks. Oh well. More chili for me (if I get it made).
DD super bowl sunday is probably a good day to go to a gym. Maybe nobody there. And Liz, a good day to go to a club house. Also a good day to plan how to buy a new home! But you and CFO Mike will get it figured out. I admire how easily you guys make friends.
Speaking of friends, no scrabble last week or this week. The big shark player had a hip replaced, came home from the hospital and then had to go back. He will go to some kind of rehab hospital as he needs more care than was possible at home. I am not surprised but worry.
Peps, puppy report needed.
Big tv CC! Far better than being at the game. They say there will be 1 million visitors to phoenix for this. Since the stadium cant hold more than 100k, what are all the other people doing? And I remember returning a rental car there once and it took so long we missed our flight. Real mess. Something about that parking garage with this long spiral like driveway that takes forever to get through. Enjoy the day.
It occurs to me that my weight would be much better if I 1) exercised a small amount and 2) stopped eating crackers. Seems simple enough.
Cheers all. Diane S
I've been putzing around after doing a workout, purging a couple drawers in the kitchen, reading the paper. Now it's time to deal with some laundry.
The musical was lively, and warm, funny, well paced. Dolly's understudy had to perform, and was awesome. Even so, they offered free tickets to see the actress who normally plays Dolly when she returns, so we are going again in March. We saw her in Chicago 2 years ago and I think she will bring something very different, and I'd like to see that too.
We went to a trendy new restaurant that just opened this week. I'm not sure if my food was all that great, but the aesthetic, the service, it was all so spot on, it felt like I was attending another performance. A rather expensive performance. We will take another look at it, and see if the food becomes a bit more even in it's wow! factor after it's been open longer.
A normal week at school, then Friday we are going to visit our son in Madison, Wisconsin. It's about a 4.5 hour drive. We'll come back Sunday evening. No school President's Day, so I can pack for Florida. No students the Tuesday after President's Day, teacher training. Then we leave on Wednesday for a 5 day get away. I won't actually have to teach for a whole week, so it will be a nice break.
Despite eating thoughtfully, carefully, and choosing lots of whole foods and proteins about 85% of the time, (I'm obviously having some indulgent foods from time to time, but I am really limiting it to like one weekend day) the scale won't budge. I don't feel like I can eat any less now, and I'm happy to be exercising a bit and feeling stronger. I guess I'm going to have to live in this space for awhile and see if I arrive at a point where I am mentally/physically ready for deprivation calorie levels to budge the scale. I am not now, so I will just carry on with making food choices that nurture my health. Maybe exercising will eventually jog my metabolism a bit, and give me a little help there.
It is so frustrating to feel like you are pretty much doing all the right things but there is no weight change.
