Hopefully the forecast today is correct and it will be sunny and warm. We are definitely turning into Floridians and feel cold when it is 70 and windy.
Laundry and vacuuming this morning along with the usual Justice walk, golf this afternoon, followed by football. A typical Sunday for us these days.
Have a super pre-Super Bowl Sunday!

Wind and cooler temps does feel different in Florida, I think it's because of the humidity. A damp wind chills faster. That's how we console ourselves in Minnesota, at least its a dry cold haha.
I'm going to meet up with my Controversy Club friends. Our topic is Radio Free Europe. Is it relevant, should the U.S. still be financing it etc.
I am writing up an eating plan for this week. I do best if I eat basically the same thing for breakfast and lunch each day. So I think this week's menu will be cottage cheese and blueberries for lunch, homemade broccoli cheese soup (its high on veggies and protein) and half a sandwich for lunch. If I need snacks, I'll have protein bars and chobani yogurt in my work desk. We don't have any social plans until Saturday, so this is a good week to to focus on eating higher protein, and less empty calories.
Ha! Liz you made me look up Super Bowl Sunday date! 2/12.... I wonder if Mr. Lincoln will be rooting or rolling his eyes from the grave. LOL!
I had a really good session with the nutritional counselor on Friday. The session has given me lots to ponder. I finished feeling very challenged to tap into my determination. I say challenged because it is clear there is something holding me back from using the same determination I have in other areas of my life with weight loss. There is a part of me that has similar thinking to Bonnie has (e.g. no diet works for me). However, I know for me that thinking is disordered and not accurate. When I look back at some of the tough things I have accomplished in my life, it does become curious why I am not able to manage my weight in a healthy range. I have been able to quit smoking successfully (probably the most important thing I ever did for my health!), stopped drinking almost 20 years ago and haven't touched alcohol since, studied voice with discipline for six years, have learned the art of hand stripping terriers (which takes years), showing terriers, etc....
I have a skill set that would enable me to lose weight and maintain it, IF I could access that skill set and maintain its use over time....
Ah, the life of the delightfully disordered!
I just realized I'm such a dick of a husband.... I forgot top wish Ron happy birthday before he left for church, so I just called him and he said, "Yeah, I know.... Happy Birthday...." and we had a good laugh.....
Not much on the books today. A quick trip to Costco, housework, meal planning for the week because I'm gonna attempt to utilize this determination of mine, and whatever Ron wants to do this evening to celebrate.... We are pretty low key about b'days. We already had the family gathering to celebrate his b'day earlier this month.....
Hmm, there's a lot to unpack there Peps. Quitting smoking and alcohol, both notoriously difficult things to do... Your high level of discipline in your workouts, I'm going to guess that only a small % of people could sustain the fitness regime you've kept for years now... So what makes this food thing so frigging hard??!!! Figure it out and tell us!!!!!
Greetings all
A sunny day here again. Football is on the menu and chili is on the stove. Anybody have a special set of chili seasonings? I think it's best to have a high end chili powder and not the mccormicks. I also add cinnamon and a bit of coco and a dash of balsamic vinegar. Maybe it's overkill. And I have one remaining jar of home canned tomatoes. Don't add beans until the end.
CC I tried the liquid castile soap. Seems to be better than the old stuff. But it looks like dirty dishwater and is thin and runny. Oh well, will report later.
Peps don't feel bad about birthday. Two years ago I forgot our wedding anniversary. You will make amends.
DD you are wise to make food plans. A great deal of maintenance and weight control is about advanced planning. It is work. It's part of the reason I have run off the rails; tired of planning and preparation and shopping from a list. I would rather go to the grocery store and impulse buy which is never a good thing for a person who overeats. I wish there was a store that sold only food for people seeking to lose weight. No junk food aisle (which is huge even in the health food store) no cereals, baked goods etc.
Oh well, time to stir the chili. Diane S
That's why I like to do automatic pilot for breakfast and lunch. I don't mind eating the same thing for several days in a row. Takes the work out of prepping. Eliminates extensive shopping. Limits choices. When I get tired of the choice du jour, I pick a different food to put on repeat. Dinner/Supper is more variety, since I share that meal with DH.
I am very much the same - especially with weekday breakfast. This week it is Red's Egg "Sandwiches". Egg patties are the bread around a turkey sausage and some cheese. 60 seconds in the microwave... ta da! I'll have a Fairlife Protein shake for morning snack. Boom! Done.
Lunch this week was going to be turkey and ham sandwiches, except I saw too many leftovers, so make my lunch for tomorrow out of left overs. I'll start with the sandwiches on Tuesday!
I follow exactly the same regime when I am in control. However lunch is a problem when I am not because DH likes to eat lunch out at least once or twice a week and we eat dinner out 2-3 times a week. Then there is the snacking...

Good Morning All - Monday rocked around again - funny that
Pretty good weekend - celebrated my DS birthday - I made him a batch of egg free brownies and we went out to dinner as a family. Will post a couple of pictures on TT. Spent yesterday cleaning out the spare room cupboard and tidying the room as it had become a junk/dump zone. I have given away heaps and have 2 big boxes to donate to the Op shop in my break today. Feels good to re-clutter. Met our old neighbours for dinner last night to celebrate her birthday it was nice. The eldest of their girls wouldnt stop hugging me - I miss them dearly.
Work shouldnt be too bad today - fingers crossed. I plan on doing some cooking tonight. Our eldest grandson starts school tommorrow and I want to call past with a meal so they can just focus on him when he gets home.
Diane S - I am so sorry to read your darling Chip has crossed the rainbow bridge. Run free beautiful boy. Sending you both much love. They take a huge part of your heart with them
