It was an open surgery. His hernia had opportunity to grow while he didn't take care of it for many months. He has a mesh sling now to keep his guts in place! Not only was in an inguinal hernia, it was scrotal, too. Just thinking about that makes me cringe!

Just a trip to Costco today. The SUN is OUT! Hallelujah. The snow is melting. It's not warm (40s), but pleasant enough in the sun.

Not much else to report. I'm a little tired from the driving and getting up early to take the trash out. I now live in fear of putting the out the night before and having them blow over again...

Smart call on the plastic totes!

The sun continues to hide here. Its going to get real cold though, so, in the winter, that usually means sunny. Clouds are like a blanket that hold in a little warmth in the winter, the brightest days are ironically often the coldest. At this point, I'll take the subzero to see a little snow.

Work, mostly uneventful. The 1st semester ends Thursday. Halfway through this school year! I have lots of great things to look forward to this spring and summer.

I'm working on the protein thing again. Eating well, for good health, good fuel, good energy always has to be intentional for me. I can get habits going, where I eat well, having say, yogurt with blueberries for part of breakfast, but I can easily derail from my good habits, even if I've been at them for weeks and weeks. I guess I need to accept resets are just normal.

Hello All

Popping in quickly. I have been trying to at least make it to read the comings and goings each day but it doesnt always happen.

Work is the usual. I am feeling a little worn out but have the eye on the prize - we leave for our trip in 37 days so that will just fly by. I have a telehealth appointment Friday after work to get scripts for our vaccinations, dental apt that evening too and that should be it. Everything else is organised Yay. We are awaiting our Visa's being processed - its TET over in Vietnam at present which is their biggest holiday of the year and everything shuts down. I am happy to wait.

My eldest grandboy starts school next week. Its gone so fast! My DIL is coming over tommorrow and we are going to cook school lunch food and snacks. Cooking isnt really her thing but I will try and show her. We then have the rest of the family apart from one DS and his partner for dinner. Its Australia Day. So will be 10 for dinner. Going to put meat and potatos in the new smoker and DH can deal with it while Im cooking for School prep. Its a weird feeling to be gearing for school etc as its been a long time since I had to focus on school terms etc. I will be picking up our darling boy every Friday after school. Im looking forward to it - I have a strong bond with him and it will be nice to have some one on one time with him. Love those boys so very much.

Liz - Hope the Bocce match went well :)

Ocean - It is wonderful to have you back and Im so pleased you are able to start enjoying your time with Sadie and your surrounds

CC - Brrr sounds cold. A thought with your bins - could you get a plate for the bins to sit in welded up - one that the garbage truck can easily lift out of when it came time to emptying? I was thinking the steel weight might be enough to stop them blowing over and give you back a little more sleep. Just a thought

Peps - Hope Ron is safely resting back at home. Send him our get well wishes. You have your hands full between puppies and recovering partners

Diane S - Hope the vet can give Chip some relief. Thinking of you lots

DD - My eating is well - best left undiscussed. OUTTA control comes to mind - ugggg

Well I had best keep going. Love to you all

They are enormous rolling bins! 96 gallon I think (holds 3300 pounds I read)? The trash truck has an arms that grabs them, then an escalator like thing that takes it to the top and dumps it in. I think being in a cart would mess with that or force me to have to try to lift the empty bin to get it back in the cart. My neighbors put big rocks on the top to keep the lids shut. I think the lid blowing up is what allows the air inside to blow it over. But so far, I've had so much big stuff and loads of cardboard, I have yet to put out a can where the lid is closed. The lid being open is what starts the bad cycle. But I think most of the cardboard is gone now, so hopefully closed lids with rocks in my future!!
