Today is our first Bocce match for this season. Mike is nervous as captain which kind of amuses me. He was captain of his baseball teams in high school and college so he takes this role seriously!
We are investigating shelving and totes for garage storage. I have a bunch of the plastic free-standing shelves on Cape Cod in the basement and garage so I think we will get the same. We are going to use them to stow away stuff we can't leave out while the renters are here rather than using the attic via pull-down stairs. Hopefully this will be easier. We plan to use plastic totes with them.
Time to get ready for our Justice walk. Enjoy a terrific Tuesday!

Your storage plan sounds great ! Our days of pull down stairs to the attic are OVER, especially when carrying things ! Sadie and I are settled and are appreciating having a garage, where some of the shelving is overflow pantry for canned and paper goods. I LOVE having no stairs !
While I feel better at 139-144, I am currently content 145-149. I have been taking note of the consequences of certain choices, and am looking at being healthy as a journey, not a destination. Fluctuations are to be expected and I am learning to live with them.
I have some great tribes, and play Mahjongg weekly with a group of wonderful ladies. We rotate between homes, and the host picks where we eat dinner first. None of us aspire to be tournament players and truly enjoy each other and the game. One of the local bookstores hosts bi weekly luncheons with authors of recently published books. That is quite fun too.
After lots of daily training, Sadie is much less reactive and walks well off leash. The training was as much for me as it was for her...perhaps more for me ! I need to be aware of the environment without projecting paranoia or anxiety, and with time, that is getting much easier ! The major distractor that sometimes trips her up is WATER, be it a puddle, pond, lake or ocean !
I have missed interacting with all of you and look forward to being an active tribe mate again.

Isn't it amazing how sensitive our pets are to our emotions? Some more than others but they do take their cues from us a lot of the time.
Great to see you back! I wish I was only a few pounds over - I am back to needing a 20-30 pound reduction. Arghhh...

I'm with Sadie, water always distracts me ...
I love hearing about the different community building things you and Liz do in retirement. I want book luncheons and bocce ball :) Previously when I envisioned my retirement, I saw myself with a snow bird home like Liz, where I could place a 2nd set of roots. Now I'm not sure if we'll be able to afford 2 homes. We could also do as you have, and relocate... Much to think about in the next few years ...
Got up at O dark thirty to get Ron to the hospital for his hernia repair. Took the surgeon double the time it took for the first hernia repair. I had a feeling this one was pretty extensive. He was in the OR for 100+ minutes. Doc said all went well. I have picked up his meds and am waiting for his discharge. Luckily, he's pretty numb so the ride home shouldn't be too uncomfortable.
The no sugar until after dinner rule is going fine.
Am definitely feeling the lack of sleep this morning so a second up of coffee with an add shot of espresso was called for. YIKES!
Glad to see Ocean Diane back on the board....
Hopefully, none of you are having a Tired Tuesday!
Greetings all
Welcome back Ocean Diane! I am so glad things have improved for you and that you feel comfortable posting here. The Ma Jong group sounds so fun. I had a friend that had a ma jong group and they all used to wear matching plaid flannel nightgowns to play! Don't overlook scrabble if you like table games. There are organized groups - I think through north American scrabble players association.
Speaking of scrabble I had to miss today because of a studio board meeting. Boring bummer. And Chip had a seizure this morning as well as one last night. His medicine dose had been increased but its not doing the job. Some rough times ahead. Message into he vet.
Peps hope Ron's surgery went well. Extra time does not always mean anything - someone late or equipment adjusted. Isn't it amazing how fast they send people home? Is it a laparoscopic surgery? Hope everything is smooth.
No stairs DD - thats the way to go. We have an attic but I have never been up there. I wish DH would put all his junk up there. Speaking of junk, old Chip got lost this morning. we could not find him. This house is not that big. He had wandered into the bedroom and was behind some boxes of DH junk.
So Liz I looked up bocce ball as I was curious about the rules. Sounds complicated as to whose turn it is and such. Have to giggle at Mike taking the captain's responsibility seriously. Of course! Are there shirts?
Not much else. We are on the third and final night of pot roast. Then I have to cook again. Meanwhile just waiting around to see if the vet calls or if anything else goes wrong.
