Today we have off from the Tennis Tournament but in a way I wish we didn't. The number 111 ranked woman is playing at 1:00. We do need the day off though to get some things done including post-guest cleanup from DS's visit and shopping prior to friends arriving on Friday morning.

This afternoon I am selling my car to Carmax. It will be weird to be back down to 1 car again here, but we did it before and it wasn't really an issue. Today Mike is taking his car to play golf in the morning and I will use mine to run errands, but on future men's golf days he will either walk to the clubhouse or I will drop him off so I have the car. No big deal.

Not much else to report except eating was not good yesterday. I have filled the Topamax but not started taking it yet. I need to do that.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

I can hardly believe that the school year is more than half over already! Only 77 more student days to go! Amazing! Then I will have only 1 or 2 school years left before retirement! WOW! Looking forward at 30 it seemed like forever. In hindsight at 58, it has flown by. LOL....

Puppy raising is different with each litter! I am having to monitor this group of three to make sure they don't get too fat. IF they get too heavy before they start walking it can impede their ability to get up and start walking. So Lulu is on forced separation for several hours at a time so the babes are able to nurse 24/7. Always something..... BUT.... this is a very good problem to have IMO. Far better than Dottie's three who weren't eating enough.

I journaled some about my sweet/sugar intake yesterday. As much as I don't want sugar to be a problem for me, I truly do have issues regulating my intake sometimes. It's not always, but winter time seems to be much harder to keep the sweets at bay. I am beginning to wonder if I need to be "sugar free". I think my sugar intake is akin to some of your wine drinking. It's not really an "issue", but it does inhibit my ability to cut calories enough to lose weight. And, I know we all don't want to give the sugar/wine up! LOL!!!!!

Not much else, except it's still SUNNY! 10 full days of sunshine forecast. A little rain after dark tonight, then clear skies for a while! YES!!!!!!

Some sun today! I hope it sticks around for the solar panels as much as me!

Not much to report today. Food hasn't been bad on my own. I think I'll take a walk later. Also could use some groceries.

Take care everybody

Greetings all

It's raining again. Not a true storm but just steady rain coming down. I want it to stop so I can go to the ceramic supply store and get clay; the 25 pound bag that reminds me what it's like to carry around an extra 25+ pounds. Hoping for a break. Meanwhile I did the gallery sales taxes, played games and watched my new favorite eagle camera. They just traded nesting duties and I think the male is off to go fishing.

Peps thats a great photo spread you posted on TT of Blitz. Wonderful. Ditto Lulu. Beautiful grooming.

So Liz, one car in Florida. DH and I mainly do with one car though we keep the old SUV for occasional use. Works fine but its old an going to fail one of these days.

So here is a question. Which gives you more trouble - sweets or carbs? Yeah I know sweets are also carbs but for some of us its non sweet carbs. Pre vsg I would have said sweets but now days its carbs. Just ate a bagel and cream cheese. Pasta, potatoes and bread are very appealing these days. Whaddaya all think?

Well I feel compelled to go do something useful while waiting for a break in the rain. Laundry I guess. Then I will glue some wine stoppers for the gallery. Last nights meeting was drama free thanks to the non attendance of difficult member #2. Most of discussion was about what to do if there is a power outage. (answer: close the shop and go home). All the outages kind of scrambled our point of sale program but a patient member called tech support and straightened it out. One of my least favorite things to so.

And speaking of not favorite things, I am starting to understand why old people complain about joint pain in wet cold weather. Icky.

Cheers all - clinking mugs of hot soup! Diane S

Interesting question! I am 100% with you on this statement "Pre vsg I would have said sweets". The fact that it is now carbs is odd to me. I gained so much weight on cakes, donuts and the like before. But now it is pasta, bread somewhat, and crackers with something on them.

I'd say I have a fat tooth. Sugar candies like jelly beans or star bursts etc I can leave alone, or carbs like a banana or triscuits a plain potato ...but package the sugar or carb with fat, then I'm interested ...

For sure!!! Jelly beans and gum drops suck. Give me a chocolate truffle any day. And cheese......ds

There is so much ice around here! And now more snow is coming. CC is your Dad still at Mayo? 8 inches is the forecast for Rochester, Mn. It hasn't been bitterly cold though, so that's a blessing. And probably why there is so much ice, since we've had thaw freeze cycles with some rain mixed in.

Just marching toward the end of 1st semester, a bit behind you Peps. Ill be at the halfway point for this year on January 31. We have a 186 day contract, so I'll have around 90 days to wake up at 6am and drag my a$$ out of bed before break. I am generally fine once I get to work, but really, having to walk through the doors by 7:15am, sometimes earlier (!) is uncivilized.

He is. He'll be there until tomorrow afternoon. The cool thing about Mayo is that you never have to go outside. It's all tunnels and skyways! They don't even rent a car. So as long as it gets cleared for the ride back to the airport, they should be good?

That's neat for your Dad and stepmother. I hope the news is good for him.
